My car has 2 mahoosive dents in the door and i got a qoute of £80 to get repaired which i thought was fair, but i thought id also try ebay for a door and i managed to come across one in my colour for £45 but bare

So what ill have to do is transfer my window, c/l mechanism with window mechanism, door handle and locking barrel to the new door

Is all of this easy to do? Is it a good option to do as its alot more cheaper then a respray and plus i could get it done asap

Also Callum206 is in the same situation so any help would help us both, thanks

I've never put a new window in, but i've put a new lock and wiring into Howey's door, it's not hard but it's a pain in the a**e if i'm honest.
The window i wouldn't have thought wouldn't be difficult, just make sure you get it on the window rail.

Personally if i was you i'd try and find a door that comes complete, then it's a straight swop and no messing around Razz

The window is easy.

Take off the door card
Wind the window down until you can get access to the white/yellow clip(s) at the bottom holding the window in place
Remove window seal at the bottom part of the window
Push on the clips securing the window with a screwdriver or something until they pop off the window (be careful doing this, otherwise bye bye window!)
Pull the window out by rotating it 90 degrees as you lift up.

Re-fitting is the reverse.....

It is just pop rivets that hold the window mechaism in place. You can just replace those and the window will fit right in with all the mecahnism. All the rest is really simple bolt on parts

Ooo also, when refitting the door locking mechanism there are some small white plastic clips, try not to break them as they hold the wire from the door handles to the lock, if you do break them they are 38p for pug, but it the pain of getting another one Very Happy

Most of all mate, take your time and take some photos so you can refer back to them when swapping all the bits into the new door.

I've changed both the solenoids in the door and found it to be a bit of a pain but ok if you take your time and don't be harsh with it Smile
