#1: Cruise Control Requirements Author: MRyan89, Location: Home: Fleet, Hampshire, Uni: Portsmouth!Posted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:10 pm ---- I did a search because I know there was a long thread somewhere on the subject in the past on cruise control, but couldnt find it! Sorry in advance if im being a fool with the search feature lol
Basically I bought a cruise control stalk a while ago and plugged it in, its currently sat in place! Now ive got a 1.4 Hdi and if I remember right I will have all the necessary switches and wiring in place? Can anyone confirm this?
Also I think the thread mentioned that all I will need to activate it is a BSI update from Peugeot? If this is true can I just get this done at any dealer or are they not going to understand or be unwilling when I ask?
Thanks if anyone has info

I believe its something certain cars had deactivated and locked out due to safety or something.
#3: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: Brian, Location: VVT Land, FifePosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:15 pm ---- G. is looking into doing this and was telling me the other day how to do it, but I don't know if you'll be able to do it with a 1.4Hdi. Basically, you need to find an ECU from a later 1.4HDi 307, which has the cruise control function in it. Then you need to get it coded into the car or unlocked. Then you need to buy the stalk and tell the bsi that cruise control is in place. That's the jist anyway, there's quite a bit of faffing about. I'd like it too as I'm doing more motorway miles now.
#4: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:22 pm ---- G is trying to find a CAN VAN 307 that has cruise from the factory so he can look up the engine ecu part number
#5: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:24 pm ---- This is how its installed
You need the red brake switch [4537 37], and plug the red harness into it.
The new stalk with CC
Run the ECu config and show cruise control as present
Then do the same for the BSI
And it should work at speeds of 30mph or faster.
[note: I can't guarantee it will work on yours tho]
#6: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:26 pm ---- Some engine ecu's it is locked out & even Peugeot Planet can't unlock it
I know G's original engine ecu it's locked out so he can't enable cruise.
The BSI will enable but the engine ecu stick's 2 finger's up & say's no
#7: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: skard, Location: UK - NorthPosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:29 pm ---- tried on a 53 1.4 hdi, i activated CC in the BSI using PP2000 and got nowhere with it, although the software recognised every function when tested, the ECU was having none of it.
wouldn't bother wasting your time mate. if it can be done it'd be a definite faff.

That's why you need it from models where it's more standard etc. I can't remember if i'm right or wrong with this one, but it is there on some later 206 ecu's it just can't be unlocked and needs to be showing as unlocked from the factory and hence why a 307 one is used, perhaps even a 308.
It's true what Lee says though, it might be more difficult with a 308, but it's defo possible in some shape or fashion with 1.6HDi's as it's a newer design.
#9: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:29 pm ---- I'm gunna see if I can borrow someone's 206 to see if it will work
Activate it without the parts, it'll just get loads of warning lights and hopefully they'll go off when I deactivate it

i got no warnings with the stalk in or out when activated, and no faults either.

As always
Can't beat trial and error
I'll be trying to reprogramme my remote start as soon as the other laptop comes
#13: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: MRyan89, Location: Home: Fleet, Hampshire, Uni: Portsmouth!Posted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:38 pm ---- Sounds like a bit of a mare to say the least! Thats annoying as well, with all the stupid average speed camera zones around I would have loved to have it sorted
#14: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: Lecktorious, Location: ScotlandPosted: Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:27 am ---- Still looking into it...basically you will need an ECU from a MUX Pug with CC fitted from the factory that shares the same injection cycle as the 206. Either one from a 207 or 307 would do I'd imagine. After that you'll need both the brake and clutch switch, the stalk itself and a BSi and ECU tweak...from what I've found anyway.
#15: Re: Cruise Control Requirements Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:39 am ---- Wondering why its not possible to use a 206cc ECU? I see that there are some CC models that have cruise control but is there a reason it cant be used?
