#1: Jamie's Blue GTi180 - Back at Halfords 21-06-22 Author: JamieM, Posted: Sat Jan 22, 2011 5:07 pm ---- Sacré bleu!, bleu SONIC The 206 GTi 180
Hi guys well I'm back with another Aegean Blue 180!
Gary is a top guy, credits due where credits due he has kept the car EXTREMELY well and it is a credit to him. I actually think this is in better condition than my previous 180 that I bought in 2007 and that was only 3yrs old!
She's just ticked over 27k Pics to come ASAP expect some snazzy shots as I'm an ASW with the camera ha!
I can't wait to give her, her first warm snow foam & detail, the paintwork is very smooth so I doubt i'll need to re-clay:)
Some may remember back when, ... I had my first 180 *18 yrs old* made it in to a mint example before some mug bricked it and then I fell out of love and ened up with my ST
My last ones spec;
Simota CAIS
Scorpion decat back
Denso Irridium plugs - always have these
Remapped
Eibach Pro kit
Team Dynamic Pro race 1.2's
& more
182.5 bhp
Any way, here is my new one
[gayON] Firstly, I don't usually go about gay nicknames some on the forum give me the lols... however... I've ended up with a name for it... Sonic. It's sharp in places and looks like a hedgehog and ... it's blue lol! [/gayOFF]
Spec;
Aegean Blue
27k
FSH
6 CD Changer
Ipod control
Auto headlights
Auto wipers
Climate control
Stock Half leather, alacantara bucket style reclining seats
Extra bits;
Janspeed Catback
Ultra Rear LED's
CC'd Morrettes
FUll SP kit, arches, and all grilles
Powder coated anthracite Vortex Alloys & petrol cap
Think that's about it!
Plans;
Real CF mirror caps
Possible lowering - Vmaxx Coilovers
Vibra technics mounts - Bought
CC'd petrol cap - professionally done.
New age SP cap on grille & on engine cover
Poly exhaust rubbers to eliminate sag - all 180s have it bad mine sits tight
Polish inlet a little - Done
Possible Simota CAIS - Done
MY plates back on - Done
& wind deflectors! - Done

I thought I looked after her well & was a little bit of a clean freak but I think Jamie surpasses me. His Saxo is awsome & i can't wait to see what he does to the 180. As sad as I am about her going, it's good to know she's gone to such a good home. Have fun but be gentle(ish) with her mate.
Edit- Jamie, hope you don't mind me using my old avitar & sig till I get sorted.

Half hr later 2 layers of Dodo Juice Light fantastic were applied

Lazy? Ah dude
I'll have a dig around for the pics and fire them over bud.
As for my 206... I sold it 4 years to the day of buying it, was about 115bhp when I finished with it. Spec was along the line of custom exhaust, induction kit, remapped, timing adjusted, gti180 brakes and rear axle, cosmetic bits and a few other things. Would never really get much more power from them and I wanted something as a better platform to modify.

Haha
Right well guys i'm updating my plans list!
Due to owning a fairly well moded Saxo VTS, I'm on the hunt for a little more excitement. The cars going like a dream apart from the dreaded clutch judder but I'm too used to my VTS which is quite abit quicker, so heres my plans...
I usually use Simota CAIS for my cars but, i'm struggling to locate my supplier, and the brand new Simota website is not great (great design) but they don't reply to my enquiries from before Xmas!
So heres what i'm opting for;
- BMC CDA kit for the RC courtesy of Kamracing
- Denso Irridium plugs
- Uprated Simota oil filter If I can get one
- & looking in to remapping again but not Angel tuning this time, but RStuning as they apparently are the best bet for the 180...
I'm not opting for big power or anything so no cams / boddies as I can't justify that sort of expense.
I'm also used to sublime handling which in the 206's defence i've owned one before and it can be rectified quite easily, I've done it all before but this time i'm opting for coilovers I think
For now the alloys will stay standard as tbh even when I had my White Team Dynamics I always enjoyed the winter months for when I reverted to them!
The only other plans I can think of is,
-Real CF mirror caps either form Ecosse or Streamline CF - (used alot previously)
-Wind deflectors
-& adjusting the exhaust as it sits a little to the left
- Fitting my private plates:)
-Possibly opting for standard rear lenses
- Brembo discs & pads
- Full detail with Menzerna Polishes & G220
Bit of a boring update maybe lol
Jamie

I think i'd still go BMC because they have proven gains, it's down to application and filter technology no doubt but yar ^:)
If I had money to waste i'd
- Buy the K+N Typhoon kit, steal the pipe in blue
- Attach BMC CDA to the bottom
- Change filter inside to an ITG cone
- Set up a hardcore airfeed
250
150
70?
£470 on an induction kit lol! for minimal gains but i'm sure optimum in induction kit context lol

Thanks, it's pretty sweet it's in need of full correction though as there is etching in places and swirlage but the paint looks sweet with a good depth to it.
Suspension is standard so it's on stilts lol

iirc mate the car was never actually for sale, I posted up a wanted thread and Gary replied and offered me dibs if he were to sell and I took it:)
So you was the one who was trying to buy her around me lol!
Not that it will make you feel any better but it is in VVGC & i simply can't wait to set about it with my specialist detailing gear:P

I had been looking for ages, I had another lined up at the time but left it too long. And then I thought i'd lob a thread up and see whats around, it was one of the cheapest 180's for sale, and MUCH better condition and MUCH lower milleage, needless to say as soon as I arrived and the garage opened I knew it had been well loved:)
Sorry:P
I'll keep you in mind mate, but it won't be for some time yet lol
#74: Re: JamieM's Bleu Recife' GTi 180 :. 206 Vs Saxo shoot p!cs Author: JamieM, Posted: Sun Feb 20, 2011 2:24 pm ---- Reet well kinda an update, not so much on the progress of the car but here goes...
This weekend I stumbled across some empty spray can used for hair and they are very close to the actual colour of my 180 so I thought it would be rude not to, so I now have my Qd' in these;
Also, you may have noticed the frebreeze, it smells similar to Dodo Juice Red Mist so that's now a part of my detailing kit:)

I have just got round to putting my numberplates on aswell.

Standard facelift rears mean the lights? I would leave the LED's on. I like the look its got.
But if you do change the rear lights gimmie a shout as I want a set of them ones lol

I liked these when I got it but now IMO they look tacky. Ideally I wanted some red LED rears like SABS to give it a more clean OEM look but I'm not looking to blow money on this car, so unless I get a swap for them some standards will be on the cards.
I'll bare you in mind when I eventually do the change!

Please excuse the quality, they are BB Torch shizer...
Also forgot to mention, It sailed through it's first MOT with me with flying colours the other day bar, I had to buy some legal plates @ the cost of £30, good old Halfrauds and shizer Kwick Fit!
And I got a caution for my exhaust being too loud.... Lolz, I've heard louder farts.
Tadaaaaaa lol.

Yep, it's in my MOT yellow section p**s take, guy was really trying for a tip by offering advice and explaining me how the rules had changed. Funnily enough I asked him if he could give me the decibel readings for my exhaust and he said he can't access that information... so how the hell does he know it's over :|?

I really want;
- K+N Typhoon with the blue piping
- Map
- Coilovers
But that's like nearly a grand on little gains (Compared to my ST)
PM coming back your way btw!

Takes a while to come as it's from America, my first one was slightly damaged but hopefully this one will be good.
It's not his fault it's the packaging, he just sends it as he has it.
#96: Re: JamieM's Bleu Recife' GTI 180 ~ SONIC - 15/06 Simota... Author: JamieM, Posted: Thu May 26, 2011 3:47 am ---- Update the kit arrived, it's currently fitted using the stock bend & oil breather whilst I work out how to remove the bottom part of the air filter system, it's overly complicated on the 180's IMO.
Anyway I have no pics of it fitted but maybe later I'll try and get a vid up!
It sounds REALLY beefy, sounds lounder than my old one but I think it might be down to the fact the airfeed isn't fitted yet.
Also the carbon is MATTE not been laqured unsure why, but it looks good still.
PIC lol

It's definitely not placebo effect! it felt like it was being suffocated before really flat power delivery now it has a punch to it and feels like it wants to go!
Sooooooo happy for £120.
Seriously though, unsure about actual power gains unless I got a before & after RR but for the actual driving experience it's made SUCH a difference it revs so freely now, I also cleaned the throttle body too actually loving it now sounds like it's on Roidz pops a little more too lol
