TD's are a lot lighter than 15kg bud... your looking at 11kg a corner when I weighed them iirc with the nitrogen filled.

I literally used the 6.9 kg weight per alloy and google'd the average weight of a 16" tyre that's how I came to that mate lol

Oh well in which case that's even better Smile

2.5 stone saving roughly if I said the vortex's weighed 15kg, but I think I read they were closer to 17 with tyres. So it's got to be over 3 stone.
That should counter those heavy front seats lol!

Just need to get them fitted now!

Yesterday I ordered a set of brand new centre caps from seriouslylotus.

I decided to unwrap the caps but taking them off most of the clips with no force whatsoever snapped off obviously just old brittle plastic because they were older style caps or from the 1's anyway it's all good I prefer the newer gel ones.

So this weekend if all goes to plan they'll be fitted :).

Next plans are suspension and mounts to be fitted and buy some Brembos.

Thanks Luke me to tbh, I had black ones before my whites back in 05 but they didn't make it on to the car because I decided white was the way forward at the time lol.

They was meant to be going on last weekend but crazy shizzle happened so looks like this weekend. On a plus my new centre caps arrived so I'm happy now. Thinking of buying some funky looking bolts or something in the future & then if all goes to plans gold brembos with grooved brembo discs.

Just a pic with the centre cap in lol.

Looks awesome Jamie cant wait to see what the wheels look like on, fancied a set of 1.2's a while back but wanted them in the same colour as ive got now. Decided against it in the end didnt seem worth all the money after tyres etc when my wheels and tyres in are decent nick. Seems like you got a good deal though i did see these for sale! Will be expecting pictures over the weekend haha!

Thanks mate, I have a feeling they are going to look actually better than I thought, the last black 1.2's I had for my first 180 were changed before they even reached the car but I am really starting to look forward in fitting these. I'm not one for getting things powder coated ect because of hassle but if I was buying BNIB I most probably would be opting for anthracite same colour as the speedlines I ps'd a few pages back :).

Pictures will only be iphone for now though because I've lost my SLR charger lol! Hopefully I'll get them on, the new gf is coming down on the weekend so she will hamper my progress somehow no doubt lol!

Couldn't get them on again, only one company would drill the 2 remaining locking nuts but for £100!

Can't see them going on anytime soon now, exhausted all the garages local to me and only found one that would do it and cba to drive around to find one, called a few and when I took it down to them they said they couldn't do it so brrrrrrrrrrrr.

Go see a Mig welder dude. My mate did all 4 of mine for me by welding a normal bolt onto them. 30 mins later... job done!

Thanks Jay I'll have to see if anyone I know has one or can do it but it isn't looking good, either way I need to get my wheels off and these new ones on I've had enough of the crashy ride they provide as nice as they look!

Defo won't be paying 100 to have 2 bolts removed they must have thought they see me coming! but I didn't return! Anyway regardless of how labour intensive they make it out it's too poxy locker nuts and I refuse to pay that sort of money to do that lol.

Let's start with the good news,

The good news is they're on...

The bad news starts here...

Now when I last had a tyre change I took my car to a place called (fa rm t yre s).. just so I don't get owned in the night haha.

Anyways they air gunned my locking wheel nuts in and basically broke my locker key! we tried our best to hammer a nut in to place and remove them that way but 2 remained unfazed. After this I let my mates uncle have a shot at getting it off. He decided to use an air chizzle on the nuts in hope to crack them off, this wasn't the best plan but it was too late he'd done it. After this I took them to my uncle who tried to weld a nut on and unscrew but the heads were too f****d. He managed to weld it on but when he used the socket set it ripped it clean off. After this we tried to drill them out which was a waste of time and we weren't cracking it. So as a last resort we cut them off. Sad

Drillin'

Cuttin'

Offskies'

Damn...

How pikey eh? Waste of good wheels but no other option but to keep drilling... we got the best peices we could! but obviously didn't spend ridiculous amounts.

Then today on the way to my uncles I noticed this;

OMFG Sad

Holding just over 10psi

Now crying in a dark corner... lol.

Wow when things go wrong, you certainly do it in style! Wheels look awesome though! I like how different they are to everyone else having vortex!

mate that is savage!! If that was my car I too would be sat in a dark room crying. I'm guessing you can't do anything about the place that fitted your tyres?

Lol I can't do a thing mate it was done so long ago!

Still at least they are on now. The ride quality improvement was worth it alone! Hardly any clunks now which I thought were my top mounts but it seems it was those wheels!! :S
The car feels more responsive and definitely quicker. Haven't had a chance to try them out properly what with the s**te weather and the screw in the tyre.
