#336: Re: Jamie's Blue GTi180 Author: JamieM, Posted: Wed Dec 18, 2013 7:05 am ---- My mum has asked me what I want for christmas,
I've given her a list
1st thing on the list is 406 Brembos which will go either gold with black decals, orange again black decals or Purple (maybe anodized) (favourite colour)
If she can't get those it looks like I'll be getting the upper vibra technics mount to match the gearbox one, and the torque and some tailored GTI 180 mats from ebay.
I have some plans for the 180's future,
Doubt I'll ever bother selling it because of it's worth it's nearly on 60k now so I'll probably turn it in to a sort of road going trackish toy. I won't take it to the extreme. I won't pretend like many it will see track much, but I do want to track it.
It's either that or I will sell it and buy another Saxo Or try out a Clio 182 or something, see what all the hype was about. I didn't get to give the sport I test drove back in the day a propper go so would be nice to have a change.
Who knows, but I really hope I can do the stuff above to it because I'm starting to get bored of it.
#337: Re: Jamie's Blue GTi180 Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Wed Dec 18, 2013 7:45 am ---- plans sound good mate, wish my parents would be happy to buy me stuff for the car for christmas. Certainly not worth selling her as you know some kid would ruin it in the first week, least with you it's kept pristine
#338: Re: Jamie's Blue GTi180 Author: JamieM, Posted: Thu Dec 19, 2013 4:09 am ---- Lol they aren't exactly happy but if it makes me happy kinda thing, although my dad says he will never do it again he got me my coilovers and gearbox mount last year and they are still in my front room lol!
Tbf it wouldn't even bother me if a kid did ruin it, I mean obviously I'd rather they didn't lol. My Saxo which I should never have sold that was ruined that gutted me and I prefered my Saxo on many levels. Don't get me wrong I love my car really but there isn't enough you can do to these without spending ridiculous amounts which is why I am bored shitless of it. It's quick but I like to tinker. Ideally I'd love another rot free Saxo or 106 Rallye but as I don't plan on selling this realistically it won't happen! One of those put up or shut up situations lol!
I wonder how this would run on an ITB'd j4/jp4 should the engine ever implode lol.
#339: Re: Jamie's Blue GTi180 Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Thu Dec 19, 2013 3:26 pm ---- LOL if I want anything for mine I have to buy it myself otherwise I know I wouldn't get it even if it was christmas lol
Unlike probably alot of people I actually understand where your coming from because I had a vts saxo before a 206. I'd say the saxo was alot more fun to drive, felt much quicker and handled better even if it was on 17's lol and like you say you can tweak the engine more for less on a saxo than a 206 180, the guy I bought the saxo off worked for a company Exway Coachworks and did everything himself including supercharger conversion and racing clutch but the git removed the charger but left the clutch on I must admit when i'm bored at home I tend to go on pistonheads and ebay to see if there are any decent saxo's
#340: Re: Jamie's Blue GTi180 Author: JamieM, Posted: Wed Feb 12, 2014 2:41 pm ---- A while back I tried to order my car a decat but the sale fell through...
Well, looks like I've got one...
It pops quite a lot already, this should make it sound better and louder and maybe help gains.

Thanks mate, for mot's just put the stock cat back on lol.
I will post a few videos when it's done, no messing around inside and out so you get a proper idea what it's like to live with. My last 180 was decatted but the Scorpion exhaust is quieter haha.
