#1: SuicidalSoldi3r's (Dave's) XSI WIP Thread. Author: -Dave-, Location: North Manchester PostPosted: Sun Jan 23, 2011 7:07 am
    ----
Ok due to Neglecting this WIP over the last few month's I have decided to delete the first post and make it a bit clearer, I used to own a 56 plate A3 but with me working Night's and my partner day's we decided we needed two car's instead of the one, Off to the dealer's we went and traded in the A3 Sad

We decided her car needed four door's for the Kid's so got her a 06 plate Fiat Punto Grand 1.2. Personally I hate it but she loved it and as she would be driving it most I let her have her way. So after week's of looking I finally came across A 206 1.6 XSI in really good condition for the Money. So got him and he came standard. ( I found out some time after he came out of the factory with standard seat's so had the half leather's installed at some point, WIN )

My first Mod was Tinted rear window's and a set of sperm light's which I hated once on the car but had to stay for a while until found replacement's. Also Sprayed a phase 2 bootstrip myself and fitted that.

The next Job was colourcoding and a spoiler, I was quite lucky with this as a family member has his own bodyshop and managed to get me a new set of arches at cost price. He also did all of my spraying for the total cost of £0.

Also fitted were SP goodie's including Fuel cap, Bonnet vent's, Front grill, Pedal's and Slider's.

The car was treated to a good wash and treated with collinite which at the end of the day resulted in this

The next job was to get new rear LED's and ended up with these which I think suit the car better.

After that I wanted a new set of Nimrod's and any one who know's me will know I had about six set's before I Finally settled on these.

And then These

My problem with the car is the silver 206 is a popular colour and I wanted mine to stand out a little bit without leaving the OEM look. So after age's fluffing about with different alloy's and idea's and almost buying some hornet's new from Pug I can across a set of Tempest alloy's In Anthericite in great condition And after a drive to Birmingham and a few Hundred pound changing hand's got my hand's on them. A brand new set of tyre's later and they looked like this on the car.

Nom Nom Droolage!

A picture of him at Buxton Summer meet with his girlfriend Poppy.

I have also got him a set of Wind deflector's which I will take a pic of when He has had his bath.

Other change's I have made are Clear brake light, SMD sidelight's, Blue interior light/GTI map light's, Quickshift and a new Sony Headunit. Also GTI kick plate's.

Update on some more change's which include,

Lowering has been done,
Interior roof and pillar's sprayed black,
K&N panel Filter,
Blue Footwell light's,
Full interior dash blue led conversion.

I know this Wip is a bit smaller than it was originally but I Used a lot of the photo's to make a how to so not much point in them being in two place's plus I thought I would just keep to the basic's. Plus would make it a bit easier to add thing's in the future.

I'm going off sperm lights.

Colour coded and a phase 2 boot strip would look good. A gti spoiler would look epic as well.

overall, nice 206 Smile

Nice one, I just didn't have the cash to pay for a whole new set of tyre's and a refurb at that time, Would of worked out over £500 for a set of Nimrod's, Told you those tyre's would bring you back some cash lol.

im just waitin on next cheque now then they will be going on woo! gonna refurb them myself too as i seem to be on a diy winner at the min, succesfully resprayed a gti bumper which is on the car now and it looks mint, wired the fogs in as sidelights too with led h1's in looks a beaut! one question how did those nimrods sit? where they flush with the arch or sit back a little?

Too be honest I can't remember, I think they stuck out slightly because I remember thinking it didn't matter because I knew I was putting arches on. But that may have been the tyre's.

Ok so a few updates. As you can see above car has been lowered. Looking at about 40mm at the front and 50mm roughly at the back. Better picture of the back here but keep in mind handbrake is on.

I was unsure as to if I should lower or not but now it's done I think it looks a lot better.

Also this week I enlisted the help of a good friend and took the roof liner and all the pillars and gave them a spray. to give you a idea of the difference a picture of the liner before and then fitted. Gave the interior a whole different look.

As I had changed all the dial LED's and mdf to blue and removed the bulbs in the AC unit I decided to give the car a subtile blue theme inside so brought tailored mats and some seatbelt covers which are already starting to annoy me so may come off again. Now the car is darker inside the footwell LED's give it a really good blue tint and set off the inside really well in the dark.

Cheers Andrew. I take the lack of replies as a compliment lol, means people are too speechless.

Sits a lot better now. For some reason the car looks so much better in the flesh than a photograph. Might have to get someone with a slr to take a few pics.

It's not lined with material it's sprayed. The pillars are easy once out but they have been been lacquered to keep them looking as close to the dash as possible.

Thanks for the comments guys it's good to know other people like it as well.

Just a little update. With halfords doing a half price sale at the moment on audio gear though it was a good time as any to upgrade my front speakers so nipped along got these for the bargain price of £24 and installed them yesterday. Sound quality has increased a lot and my only niggle is that now I have better speakers I can tell I have a stubby aerial as I can the static more Laughing

Beautiful looking car, well done!

I'd love to get the roof, dash and all the internals of the car sprayed dark as the light creamy/grey colour they are now is awful and doesn't go with my green and black theme!
