#1: On and Off again Author: suni, Location: East AyrshirePosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:49 am ---- Ok, long story short the car has been goosed around 2 weeks now. I posted my car on Pistonheads for a quicksale over night i got an email from a guy wanting to come buy the car the next day. I called him to arrange the deal. As soon as i came off the phone to the guy the car decided to go in the huff and turned itself off. Woulnt start at all, I knew it wasn't a battery problem. I had a feeling it may have been a blockage in fuel. As the light was on when this happened and the car was idling on a hill. Anyway, after an hour we towed the car back home still no kick from it. Went back in the house and decided I'd call the guy to cancel the sale.
He was pretty p**sed, but i told him the truth and that was that. The guy proceeded to text me saying he was desperate for the car, i just ignored the text messages.
After an hour had passed I went back outside and god behold the car started first time. Couldn't believe it. I really wanted to get rid of the 206 asap because i had a MKV Golf GTI lined up to purchase and needed money for a deposit quick. I promptly called the guy back and asked him if he was still wanting to go ahead with the sale and we agreed to do so.
You Wont Believe the next part.
AGAIN - The car took huff with me and died, it just really doesn't want to go anywhere:lol:
So the past 2 weeks I've had a few mates up and we still can't seem to get it running. Everyday it will start first time. I give it revs and after 2-3 minutes it will just die on me.
It used to idle for 15 minutes then turn itself off (the night this happened) but now it will start for roughly 5-10 seconds then just die.
Needless to say the guy was pretty p**sed about the whole situation, but as was I. The Golf Sold the next day anyway so i missed out on that as well. I just really want the car running again, so I can take it to WBAC.
Thansk for your time, any ideas are welcomed. This is last resort before i tow it down to the garage.

A month before this happened i needed to replace the driverside hub as one of the bolts had sheared inside it. I actually made a mistake and ordered an non-ABS hub. I still fitted that, just disconnected the wire. The ABS light was showing but I don't think that would have anything to do with what's going on now. As it's been a month since that, and the car was running fine.
Side-repeater was changed a few days before this happened.
My mates haven't really done much if I'm honest we think its to-do with the electronics, tried closing the doors, locking re-opening etc to see if that made a differerence. But nothing.
