aux belt is for AC, alternator.
cam belt/ timing belt is to drive the engine

the sole purpose of the cam belt is for the timing,and it's crucial that it's spot on.thats why it's a bigger job to do.you have to set the inlet and ex cams to a certain position so that the valves open and close at the right time,last thing you want is the pistons bending a valve.

The cam belt also drives the water pump normally
