#1: Escort Rs Turbo S2 *VIDS OF THE FIRST DRIVE* Author: ersturbo, Location: crawleyPosted: Wed Jan 26, 2011 5:58 pm ---- Might not be every bodys cup of tea but i know in my newbies thread couple of people liked it so thought id put a couple more pics up for you lot to have a look at!!
I brought the car for £1900 knowing there was a few bits wrong with it that needed abit of tlc but this obviously went to abit more then i hoped. Whilst driving the car back i thought it was abit slow but i was comparing it to my last 320bhp escort rs turbo so didnt think much of it. about a week later i went to lakeside and got slaughtered by another standard rs turbo so it was time to take the car for a mapping session at torque of the devil. first run = 88bhp and 3psi of boost lol at standard rs turbo suppose to run about 10psi. whilst mapping it on the 19th run it spun all its bearings DOH!! So finished the day off with 170bhp and and buggered engine.
so rebuild commensed ive been building the engine with parts so once its finished i can hopefully start running around 250bhp
Next winter its coming off the road for its zetec conversion which will give me around 400bhp

i had a FRST about 5 years ago with a T3 turbo it was a mint car little later i found out it to be a 1.6s converted i was gutted but i think it was a re-shell as it was mint!

The knowledge just comes in time and practice mate to be honest
T3 is the standard turbo for rs turbo's, its not to bad really having a replica cheaper insurance but ye you yourself know its not an actual rs
I'd love to go to a scrap yard and see an rs turbo id end up buying the whole car.........literally lol

I made the engine bay as good as possible without sanding it back and respraying!!

ITS GONNA BE STARTED TOMOZ
But for today got some pics
who ever had the engine out last snapped the engine mount bolt inside a nut and decided not to do anything about it and just leave the car with one engine mount bolt!!!
Also had to take a trip to ford today for a couple of new lower arm bolts £5.09
All electrics are connected up
Here we go got up this morning first thing on the agender was to grind the old nut away and basically sort something else out
After i grinded it all out i had to sort some other mounting bolt so this is where a nice long bolt couple of washers and a nut came in handy then a bit of paint to stop it rusting
Then on to fitting the rad
After the rad then came the intercooler this was a b***h as terry might remember the twin fans arn't slim line so they stick out quite abit so when i went to fit my standard bumper months ago i had to cut the back out of it so the fans would slot in to the bumper, but now ive got a bigger actuator this was erm even more tricky i couldnt cut any more of the bumper so i put the bumper in to place best i could fiddled around for about 2 hours then managed to get enough space to tighten every thing up
got a gap about an inch maybe bit more between the actuator and the rad now hoping its gonna be enough.
Then just spent the rest of the night doing hoses and finishing electrics putting now bonnet cable on.
And finally the new forge dump valve
