That depends to whether the MOT report is healthy or not ( almost a year of sitting around )
Plans:
Replace roof
MOT
Machine polish
Clean up interior
Clean engine bay
Fix broken trims
Re-laquer steering wheel
New Regestration
Here are some pictures just for you lot as it stands
Opinions or advice welcome

#6: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: Razpulsedj, Location: Partying with the Info ShufflersPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 2:32 pm ---- Very nice car, would rather have the number plate on a plate positioned like an rx8 rather than on bonnet
#7: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: shaker, Location: AustriaPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 2:32 pm ---- hairdressers car
jk, kinda lmao!
They do handle very well, and it doesn't cost alot to make it go faster, so not a bad buy

Well i did say in my other thread that it was this or £400 cash, so the decision has been made
#11: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 2:38 pm ---- The Gleneagles pack included the tan leather, wood on the dash, wooden steering wheel and I believe the sill plates.
Just get it looking good and keep it standard and it will be a lovely car to own
So even though mine is before 2001 (when the regs came in) i need a new plate anyways?
Afriad so mate. It might go through an MOT, it just depends on who and what the tester is like.
#23: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 4:39 pm ---- It will look better at the front of the bumper anyway

Is it a 1.6 or 1.8? Don't really know much about them to be honest
And are you planning on selling it after it's all tidied up?
#29: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: Salty_jon, Location: Ashbourne derbyshirePosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 8:12 am ---- Good to see some Mx5 fans on here. If it's a 1.6 do you fancy selling it. Looks a tidy one for the track. We are just building 4 new mx5's for the ma5da championship

1.6
And yes it will be sold at the end of it, hopefully made to mint condition
Few more jobs needed to be done, and history tracing
Engine bay cleaned though

Got a bit of a thing for these, been tempted by them for a while now, look amazing with the right wheels and stance, I think part of the attraction is the 'hairdresser car' image, as with the right mods I think some of the haters might think twice, I myself was quite surprised how good they can look when stanced
#32: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Mon Jan 31, 2011 2:27 pm ---- Its staying standard ross

#40: Re: Project MX5 Refurbisment (Trisha) Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Wed Feb 16, 2011 10:21 am ---- Engine bay cleaned and insides treated with glyptone
Also polished the inner boot with fine finishing compound, clean out the rear boot seal and wiped off brake dust of spare wheel
You will have to get some more pics up with the new couple of bits on and after your big tidy up as you say.
I nearly got a mk1 mx-5 for my project car but i was swayed last minute into getting a mk2 toyota mr2.
Definitely get some wheel like in that pic, they look like Rota RB's but abit bigger. Suit the car to the ground.
Best of luck with the project should look great when your done.
