Hardly got owned, plus to get a real carbon fibre bonnet would have cost £300+ and not to mention the insurance increase

£250ish for an expensive second hand carbon bonnet, and it wouldn't of put the insurance up by much if anything.

Surely carbon fibre is only shiney when its been polished or glossed?

Carbon fibre is laquered like paint to give it gloss. Take a look at Mr and Mrs Howeys in their garage.

I've seen carbon bonnets go for as little as £110 in the past.

Maybe mine isn't lacquered then. Because it's not shiney at all, or could it be because its only vinyl not real carbon fibre?

Not sure if you can laquer vinyl but if you can it'd be well worth doing, it'd match the finish of the rest of the car.

Isn't the point of having a different coloured bonnet that it stands out from the rest of the car?

I will definitely give the place that did the vinyl a call and see what they say

Maybe its because not real carbon fibre that it's not shiney. It feels like carbon fibre though. Yours just looks black howey.

EDIT: Found this
www.carbonfiberfilm.co...oc-glossy/

Also I will get some up close pics of my bonnet tomorrow, close up it looks loads better than that pic

It's got a smoothed front end, I just need some BBS/Lenzo's and to lower it, hence why it's got a project page, it's a work in progress. I've just drawn on ideas I've seen from other Euro'd 206's like Dale's and Marks, that was in FastCar. But I don't have a job at the moment, so thats why it's only "Semi Euro"

I was only voicing my opinion. I'm sure it'll look good once completed Smile
