lol well let me know what you decide on, i was thinking spraying a s**t load of heavy duty cleaner down it, leaving it for a while then flushing it out, then leaving overnight to dry. god knows whats going to come out..

looking on google it would seem the best way to do it is leave to soak in a 50/50 mixture of degreaser overnight then use brake cleaner and a brush on a wire to clean the tunnels. then rinse and leave to thoroughly dry.

might paint mine silver or gloss black whilst it off.. Smile

Could always stick a 180 inlet on in its place.

I'll give it a clean later.

Been serviced regularly?

Not leaking on the inlet manifold is it?

Any fault codes?

Might be the camshaft thats worn??

Yep, full service history and most done by a dealer.

It's making a slight hiss when you rev it. So I'm swapping the inlet this evening.

I tried starting it at lunchtime and it was pretty reluctant. I'll get a video up later.

Had a scan and came up as a faulty ICV which I've since replaced.

Didn't have time to work on the cars last night.
I'm just uploading a video.
I ran the car this morning. It struggled to start but it did, then after 1 min the engine died...

fair enough, sounds similar to mine but i havent reached that severity yet

btw, ordered new seals etc from peugeot. the throttle body seals only come in packs of five so if you want one ill send it to you for a pound lol

beats having to buy five..

I'll probably take you up on your offer if I need a new one, but I might swap the entire intake manifold.

The video is still uploading, the one day I forget the lead to my phone...

Just to check... That idle control valve looks old.. Is that the one you replaced it with?

That is the original 2001 ICV, the one I've replaced it with seemed to work fine on a 1999 GTi, gave a it a clean too.
