Author: |øgæn, Location: MexicoPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 12:00 am ---- 1.6 TU5 (16v, 110hp) runs always between 70 and 90, sometimes closer to 90, unless is pretty hot outside (in summer we have around 45-48°C here in Monterrey) so the needle sticks close to 110.
Best Regards

#19: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: bertt, Location: chesterPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 2:08 am ---- mine runs about 80 only alters when in huge traffic jams ect, think its about normal for a 1.1
#20: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: ma.langan, Location: Leyland, LancashirePosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 5:07 am ---- my old 1.4 206 ran at about 90-100 degrees with about 30mpg. If ya want to improve mpg stick half a bottle of redex into a full tank and drive changing gear at about 2500 - 3000 rmp. if ya change gear too soon you actually use more fuel because the car is working harder somehow

#23: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: kerry, Location: SomersetPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:01 am ---- I have been using Shell's normal unleaded but after reading things on here am going to change to another brand.
As for the fuel economy had the car 11 months now and used to get 35-37 mpg from it running around the town 44 mpg on a good run, so not sure whats the matter with it now to be down to 24mpg ! think i remember it running at 90 before too so its going in to the garage to be looked at.
#24: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:04 am ---- if driving and its cold out, about 80, if sitting in traffic 90
#25: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: gixxerkev, Location: wiltshirePosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:22 am ---- My 1.4 runs around the 80 deg mark. Are you doing long journeys or little trips? In the cold weather the engine doesnt get a chance to warm up properly and will always use more fuel. Mine doesnt do much more than 28mpg in this weather but I am doing short journeys.
#26: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: Mike_XS, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:58 am ---- My 1.6 runs at just over 90 when driving carefully. I get about 33mpg at the moment. But I do live on the Isle of Man. Lots of hills and corners with plenty of gear changes and start and stops....
#27: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: kerry, Location: SomersetPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 11:06 am ---- gixxerkev ..... Lots of short journeys i'm afraid
Think i might look into changing the car for the 1.4 hdi cheap as chips to run according to the reviews
#28: Re: What temperature does your car run at? Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 11:15 am ---- My 2.0 Hdi runs about 70 - 75 ,but sitting in traffic goes up to almost 90.
