as my car will be having Gti calipers fitted but want a good decent brake set to go with it.
#2: Re: Brake Advice Author: Seabook, Posted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 11:24 am ---- make sure you got the correct fittment as there is 2 tyres of fittment for gti brake

bosch
which year?
99 to 01 most likely is still using the 266x20.5 disc
02 or newer will use the 266x22 disc
#10: Re: Brake Advice Author: Liam-HuTcH, Location: PeterboroughPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 11:52 am ---- they were off a 2004 plate hdi
then most likely you need the 266x22 disc, not the one in your link

The reason I ask is I have a horrible grinding noise when I brake. Only happens for first half mile then goes. Sounds like coming from the back, and the handbrake is 10 clicks, which makes it sound like brake adjustment or worn shoes. Don't fancy stripping only to find I have to rebuild to go get some new shoes to come back and fit them. Might as well have them ready.
