#1: Track day strip down Author: liam180, Location: BuckinghamshirePosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 4:43 pm ---- I've decided that i'm going to start making some changes to my 180.
i want a second set of wheels and tyers for the track, without spending a fortune...
i'm keeping an eye out on ebay, but does anybody else track their 180?
any recomendations on the wheel n tyer front?
Also uprating the pads any suggestions that you've tried and tested ??
thanks for any suggestions!

tyres for summer track carnt go wrong with prada spec 2
pads well alot of people go with the ebc green, red, yellow stuff pads have heard mixed reviews but mostly good
just my opinions there

Tyres, my view is it's a trackday not a race so i use cheap part worns, not wasting money on proper track tyres and new tyres destroy themselves anyway!
As for wheels, i've just got a set of 14" of another 206.
#4: Re: Track day strip down Author: liam180, Location: BuckinghamshirePosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 5:08 pm ---- After spinnig off the nurberg at 90+ mph last year i'm pretty sure i want the tyers to be as sound as possible, and i've been told by lots of people a decent set of track tyers really do make the difference.
not sure i would risk the part worns for the track, i have some on the mo for road use.
I'm tempted to run the discs n pads that the 180 comes with, i mean ythey are pretty good as standard.

accident on track mostly because driver misjudge the corner, not because their tyre is too sh**.
if you want proper track tyre then get some DZ03G or FTZ or A050, if you are tight on bugget you could get some RB5.
depends on the car weight, but you probably can't run soft/ super soft compound on a 206. it's just too heavy.
in terms of wheels, just get some 15" steelies or any cheap alloy will do.

#8: Re: Track day strip down Author: D4NTP, Location: Not Leeds or its surrounding areas!Posted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 12:50 pm ---- It all depends when your doing the trackday for, i do it for a cheap laugh, friends come along, we thrash the car around and humiliate much better cars just on driving ability rather than fancy tyres and mods. For me it was about getting the balance right between fun and cost (too many hobbies to get absorbed in this one).
I'm with Seabook on this one, no matter how good/bad your tyres are if you spin there is only one thing to blame, ability.
