#1: tyre seal problems Author: willb101, Location: notts PostPosted: Mon Feb 21, 2011 1:53 am

hey. have just bought some 180 wheels and one of the tyres was flat so i took it my garage. he said it had just slipped of the rim and he'd blown it back on with his air pump and it was fine until coming back to it this morning (after doing a couple hundred miles) and i found it flat. the only thing i can think of is a large pothole i went down last night. air is seeping out of the seal between rim and tyre.

im hoping this will be at worst a new tyre or could it be that the rim itself is the problem? or is this a usual thing to happen when going down a pothole? grateful for any insight

thanks

Could be a coincidence & the pot hole had broke the seal again, or the rim of the wheel itself needs looking at to check it isn't corroded or cracked. Get the tyre double checked as well for punctures.

Could be either:

A simple rim leak

A damaged tyre

A damage rim

Fingers crossed it's just a rim leak as that is an easy repair for a tyre place.

it turns out that it is the wheel thats the problem so looking at a repair job or a new wheel. so does anyone know of a good repair place in the east midlands/nottinghamshire area?

and also been lookin on ebay and seen some single gti wheels for sale. unfortunatley there the ones with the peugeot badge in the centre (but not the ones with the centre cap) where as mine are the ones with nothing in the centre (challengers i think they are) so my question is can the centre bagde be removed/De-badged?

cheers
