Can anyone help? Both the front doors/hinges on my 55 plate 206 click when opened, any ideas on how to achieve a smooth opening?

I dunno, that's why I shout for my dad or get the mechanic to sort it.
I had my passenger one replaced in september and it's gone already.

Just grease them up, they should be ok. That's all I do with mine.

They are about half way down the door, they are pretty thin

Exactly, use copper grease over the hinges and check straps, do not use WD40, but instead make sure they are regularly covered in copper grease.

do a quick check and open the door but let go. If the door opens right out so the hinges wont go any further without any resistance the check straps are knackered.

if it stops half way out then they just need a grease Very Happy

Tighten the bolts holding the check strap on.

As said before don't use WD-40 as it'll be fine for a while but get even wore later on. Use copper grease to make the effect last Wink
