#1: Project PERCY! UPDATE 26/05/11 Author: ma.langan, Location: Leyland, Lancashire PostPosted: Wed Feb 23, 2011 8:15 am
    ----
Well after an unfortunate event with my old car and a failed repair job by an apparently qualified machanic, I mished off and bought myself a 1.4 HDI woo, soo....
Here is Percy MK2 on his purchase day!

First Job was a reet big gret polish sesh, I started at about 2pm, when it was light and finnished at about 6 - fail, polishing with a maintenance light isnt a fun task.

Then I fitted my new angel eyes Smile

And heres new and old, ya can see we managed a fair job on repairing but my machanically DISabled friend managed to get it half an inch out just about everywhere. So that has been sold on.

A little bit of temporary higering lol...
jus parked on a hill

Then i got hold of a GTI bumper and gave it a spray, still not finniished yet, ive got it primed just needs some gloss work...

I Picked some Nimrods up last weekend but with wrong tyres on so the angels are going to make some cash for some new rubber :)...

Then I spotted a little chrome exhasut tip in POUNDLAND yes couldent belive it, however with having a down pointing exhast i had to chop that off and launch a reducinng extension on it which was about £6 more than the tip lol, but it will do until I can afford an oval one...

Also got my 206 info sticker through the post yesterday:)

and debadged...

Thats about it now, just small mods really, and it more or less looks the same tbh but when I get my nimrods on all will change woo! and the bumper.
UPDATE 1
Sooooo,
A lot has happened to the monster since I last put an update on,
I finally got my alloys finished and sprayed and put on. Seriously I was like a child taking his first trip to the wacky warehouse that day. I hammerited the calipers and drums and launched the wheels on.

When I did have my GTI bumper on it had smd led h1 bulbs in and they were wired to the side lights, looked very lush but an unfortunate incident with forgetting i was in gear on a carpark with high kerbs meant it was in the garage having a fiber glass rebuild done by myself. It is nearly finnished now but im waiting on my dremel to re appear from a friend loan so I can tidy some edges up, prime it and spray it.
Before

Also my extra interior lights are visible on that pic. They are mega bright on the inside only cost me £1 each so I got four. Two in foot wells and two at the top of the windscreen. Sunglasses are now required at night Smile
Angel eyes are currently in the garage too as I managed to melt them at a bbq on the beach by shining my lights onto the food table for 1 hour. This resulted in the nylon light adjusters melting. so if anyone knows where i can get these from or has a left or right hand angel eye headlight going spare give me a shout! thx

I also wired some door handle light in, they are connected to the interior light and fade on and off as I lock and unlock the car, also looks lush but not too chavy.

bumper during repair

I bought and tried a badgles front grill but disliked, sold and made some profit so all win there!

Alloys fitted

I have installed a computer sytem into the car. Laptop in the boot, touch screen with keyboard and trackpad in the front. All hooked up to the original stereo using an adaptor that fools it into thinking there's a cd changer. All gold plated sound cable going from boot to front to avoid loss of sound quality.

Laptop and inverter in boot, still needs tidying tho lol.

I mounted some 8.5x8.5's into the parcel shelf this week. Took them out of a £300 sterio i bought tother week that dident work so i took it back and forgot to launch the speakers back int box, no one said anything so free loud speakers. Just need to buy an amp tomorrow Smile

Took delivery of some beautifull m3 rears yesterday so i gave her a wash and this is how she stands outside my house now:)

Hope you all likey, btw those red mirror caps are coming off, thought they looked good for a day then changed my mind Smile
Might lower it on the rear tomorrow just to get it sitting level.
Got her booked in for a remap for the 10th june so should hopefully be running at around 100bhp, make my 5 am starts a little more fun when im late lol.
gonna tint back windows bout 50%, powder coat wheels this winter, get bumper back on, find a nicer exhaust tip, fix angel eyes, colour code, and few other bits like gti/sp parts.
Thanks for looking.

What's the deal with the laptop install? Looks very slick especially the centre console. Explain a bit more Smile

bought a 7 inch usb display, routed all the cables down the centre console under the seat and into the boot. Cut the vents out using a dremel. blocked the vents off with mdf and glue. changed my mind several times about how the monitor would sit. Eventually I decided to cover unsightly parts with silver sprayed mdf. the monitor is held in place by... wait for it. white tack! that way i can shove the bugger int glove box when I leave the car. because im using my cuurent laptop this cost about £150 - £200 to do. and i have just ordered an 8 inch touch screen instead of that 7 inch non touch one. gets a bit annoying whating to change a track on i tunes and having to fins the keyboard and then hold down fn and next!
And the laptop is powered by a 150w car inverter wired from the cigarette lighter into the boot with a switch int ashtray
usb display 7" non touch £84 8" touch screen £130 carcomputer.com
Rafio adaptor £35 ebay
wiring about £20-30 CPC
Car inverter 150W £30 Local Car Mega Store
