We have had quite a bit of rain here lately and this morning went to my car to re-install some footwell lights and the passenger footwell had a big puddle on the mat :/ i've got most of the water out but im gonna have to hope it dries by its-self really.
Is there anyway I can prevent this in the future and has it happened to anyone else??? Razz

thanks,

Ben.M

Check the seal that runs around the door that is where the water will proberbly be coming from.

I had the same, but on the driver side. I dried it with a pillowcase filled with cat litter. I also put a dehumidifier in the car for 24 hours. Worked a treat.
I found out the water must have been coming through a big tear in the waterproof membrane behind the doorcard. Either that or it leaks when it's parked on a bank in heavy rain. I will fix/replace the membrane and hope it doesn't leak anymore.
I have heard from other forum members that it could be a leaking heater matrix. Check your coolant levels.

Its not the door, as there is no water around the door seal but there is if you feel up around the heater matrix.
The coolant levels are the same as usual and the water in the puddle was clear, it has done this before but it is only when it rains for a while or very hard but i've never had a puddle this big :/

thanks,

I am assuming the bung and grommet are the same thing...

Yes it is the same thing.

When I fitted my mates amp, I took the grommet out, made a tiny hole in it and forced the power cable through it, then put the grommet back in - meaning that there was a still a decent seal in the bulkhead.

That's the problem. It's there for a reason.
