#1: Turbo noise Author: adam_16v, Location: KentPosted: Thu Feb 24, 2011 5:43 pm ---- I've had the Hdi a few weeks now and i've recently noticed that when ever i come off the accelerator, I get a hiss sort of noise.
It pretty much sounds like a dump valve, but im certain there isn't one, still need to look.
Is it more likely to be a split pipe? It does seem to labour in 3rd gear, around 3.5k.
Which pipe is it most likely to be if it is a split?

and should have less power after 1.5K rev, not just after 3.5K
but it is normal to have little power around 3.5K because peak torque came in at about 2K

A hiss coming off the gas would to me mean that waste gate is already fully open but check all the pipes before going down that route
