yeah before i had them it used to really annoy me the amount of stuff that sprayed up from the wheels thats the main reason i got them was worried about stone chips up the door and sill will try it when iv lowered front may just have to take them off to get on the ramp at work etc as they scuff on that already! not that hard to take on and off so not really a problem just dont want to destroy them lol
Yeah i'd definitely try and keep them if you can, its an absolute nightmare without them at the moment
Going to get the front of mine down a bit more in time for the summer and start getting it up to scratch, be good to do a few meets at some point!
#107: Re: RTTAM'S 206 GTI 180 updated 30/12/12 Author: rttam, Location: devonPosted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 11:50 am ---- yeah yours looks really nice height thats what made me want to make mine a bit lower on the front
mines pretty much donr now just got to finish off the engine bay and boot build and thats it. but got plenty to do to kates 206 before the shows currently in the process of trying to make some masked crystals for it as her angels are terrible visibility at night even with the nightbreaker bulbs in then got full gti kit and lowering to do to it and redo the nimrods graphite!!
yeah was saying to matty last night that once mines back from the bodyshop will definately have to sort a meet out
#108: Re: RTTAM'S 206 GTI 180 updated 30/12/12 Author: rttam, Location: devonPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2013 11:04 am ---- weather was nice so gave the 180 its first proper clean of the year today nothing major just a quick clay and polish followed by some glaze and wax. is booked into the bodyshop next monday to have some paint freshened up will be having a massive detail once its back from there
after its trip the bodyshop future plans are lower the front more on coilovers, finally finish my bootbuild and finish my inlet manifold and engine bay hoping to have this done before the spring action day at castle combe in april

bit of dead laquer on n/s around door handle and car park ding in rear quarter plus a bramble scratch so having the whole n/s stripped, sanded back and repainted, having the dent i made in the tailgate when i dewipered it taken out and whole bootlid resprayed to lose the faint marks from where the badges used to be, morette covers sanded back and resprayed and also new colour coded badge as i managed to break the tail off the current one seems a bit extreme but just want it perfect for this years shows once its back gotta give it a major service and then putting some ap coilovers on it so can wind the front right down.
#112: Re: RTTAM'S 206 GTI 180 updated 13/1/13 Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:02 pm ---- Half a car respray then! It's little things like that which make you feel good about your car, I know because mine's booked in for a little tidy up as well

yeah definately up for fcs there's a group of us coming from the southwest as its nearer this year be nice to finally meet some other info'ers!
#114: Re: RTTAM'S 206 GTI 180 updated 13/1/13 Author: rttam, Location: devonPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 12:43 pm ---- well been a busy weekend on the 180 so far removed my gt front bumper and dropped that off to be resprayed due to some reaction issues and whacked the standard bumper back on with no splitter so i could drive it to the workshop.
gave it a full service and check over as well as sorting a few small things out. then got my ap coilovers built up with new genuine peugeot top mounts and put those on. have wound them down quite a bit and had to space the wheels out very slightly may go a tiny bit lower yet but will wait till the gt bumper is back on. adjusted up the tracking and went for a short drive first impressions are although the ride is slightly harsher than the eibach/H&R'S i took off the handling is still spot on
a few pics
currently sitting like this :/
front bumper should be done next weekend so will be getting that back on along with a new colour coded badge as i broke the tail off the current one cleaning it lol. also got to the bottom of my foglamp issue so will have working fogs again with the gt bumper
will give it a good clean and post some proper pics when the bodywork is all sorted!
also have another matching vibe sub to go in, a few colour coded angine bay bits and my polished inlet manifold in progress but these probably wont be done until next month now

#117: Re: RTTAM'S 206 GTI 180 updated 2/2/13 Author: danlouiee, Location: Plymouth, DevonPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 4:33 pm ---- ahh was worth a try haha, mine should be completely show worthy end of april hopefully just got a few bits and bobs to do - fitted my new Vibe Slick a4 amp today and send amazing! didnt realise how good amped components were!!
best place to buy a lowering kit on a budget but still decent enough ride? in guessing bilstien shocks?
i bet you miss driving it i would if i was you! wanna get one of these go pro cameras too saw your videos they look class!

yeah i was always a bit skeptical about amped components but id never go back to normal ones again the sound quality is so much clearer
tbh those eibachs on the h&r cupsport dampers were really smooth ride only reason i changed them is because they just wernt low enough paid just under £400 for them with the mounts too and another £100 for the gaz adjustable rear dampers
depends how low you want to go i had -40mm springs on standard shocks on my old 1.4 206 and it drove quite reasonable
yeah its just been easier to drive the clio as i dont have to worry about careless parkers and gritting lorries lol plus its given me time to do it at my own speed rather than rush it and mess things up lol once the weather gets better il be out cruising around in it most weekends again
yeah once iv sorted an editing program out should get some decent videos made up from the shows and stuff
#119: Re: RTTAM'S 206 GTI 180 updated 2/2/13 Author: danlouiee, Location: Plymouth, DevonPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 4:50 pm ---- Yeah defo have to get that program sorted out! Proper car club!;) haha
Well part of my mot was an advisory saying about suspension strut and so I want to replace both so if I bought standard strict and just some fk springs would that be ample! Just want the lower stance on the cyclones really more than anything! Wouldn't wnna go any lower than 30 and then just torsion bars then?
Wish I could run two cars..guess when I am all moved out and living with my new job I can look at another but for the minute it's my daily and I love it!:D it's just a lovely place to be in a 206...loads of interior change for me!

yeah im sure with the nice cars and the general childish behaviour we can get some good videos haha
ah right yeah it would be a lot cheaper than getting aftermarket shocks and shouldnt be too bad if your only lower 30mm yeah torsion bars aslong as they arnt seized then they can become a nightmare
well i said when i got the 180 id only run one car but keep getting cheap bangers offered to me so be rude not to and saves messing up the 180 in the winter wouldnt be too bad if i lived in a city but the roads are awful round here in the winter yeah must admit i love the drive of my 206 even if i had to sell the 180 i think id get another smaller engined 206
