girlfriend just upgraded her standard 206 and got a 206 xsi, with cd player, gone to fit her old kenwood into her new car and there is 3 blocks on the orignal wiring and only room for 2 on the head unit, so plug the two in and hte headunit dont work, what is the 3rd for its the blue green and yellow block?

does it need an adaprt to make it work and also does anyone know what adapter to make the steering controls work?

many thanks for any info

without looking, im guessing the 3rd is for a cd changer, either in the boot or glovebox

i had the same problem with my headunit, all i had to do was swap the red and yellow connections around so instead of it being red to red and yellow to yellow it was red to yellow instead. those coloured blocks you mentioned are either for the cd changer or the mfd cant remember which. as for the control stalk by the steering wheel halfords sell an adaptor for about £20.

hope this helps

The Blue green and yellow will be for Changer, Wheel Controls etc. The CD player will still work, but you'll lose the wheel controls

I'm sure I enquired about this part for the steering controls a while ago and it was like £50! It wasn't worth it.

Stalk control is not worth it on a 206 IMO because the stalk is so rubbish. On the Punto I can also change sources and mute, which is very useful. Also, the buttons on the wheel are much better than a wobbly stalk that gets dirt in and cranks up the volume without you touching it!!

If the power & speakers are connected the headunit should work.

Non plexed stalks are crap BUT multiplexed 206 stalks allow you to change source & also mute.

For mute: Press both volume buttons at the same time before people start asking or cant be bothered to RTFM Wink
