I have emailed Spoox about one for my car as Not many people seem to recommend Griffith's, While I wait to hear from them has anyone ever had one of these fitted or know anything about them, For example if they are any good.

I have a 1.6 16v XSi and have a Griffiths Quikshift fitted and paired with PugRacing Gear Linkages.

I've got to say compared to my Compbrake quikshift, which is that Spoox's one (they just rebrand it as they're own) the Griffiths is far better. Easier to adjust, easier to fit and the gear throw is litterally nothing. And best of all the gearstick itself stays the same length where as it's half way up your a**e before you get short shifts with the compbrake/spoox s**te.

How easy was it to fit Uz?

Took me 20 mins to fit my Quikshift and the linkages, so realistically about 10-15 mins to get just the quikshift fitted.

That includes stripping and refitting. Check out my progress blog for the XSI to see the fitting.

DJWizard had one (Compbrake) fitted to his car, and it was a 'mare by all accounts.

IIRC the problems were a combination of the plastic ball on the gear stick, and not having a straight stick which meant he had to buy another one to get the job done. (The latter part may be complete fiction .... )

I did buy one a few years ago, but based on his nightmare story decided against fitting it until I had someone to hand that could help patch it up if it went wrong.

So far, I haven't had the energy or drive to push that one up the priority list so it's sat in a box somewhere. Very Happy

Stu, your right about the compbrake and the gearstick, iirc you have to purchase a 306 gearstick as they're a straight gearstick. Hank Marvin over on Owners fitted on to his Rallye when he build it and said he had the exact same problem due to the 106 stick being more bent then Elton John.
