Is it just my car or is it normal for the steering linkages to be out in the open, not covered in the footwell? just though it was a bit wierd as I had my foot on the clutch and I could feel the steering column on my foot while turning...

like ste said its normal i feel the steering column on my foot regularly, but think thats purely cuz i've got my seat slightly too close to the wheel Smile

I am only 5ft 5 though Wink so its hard to find the right place lol

Don't have your foot so high on the clutch or get smaller feet.

lol nope it's perfectly normal haha, just adjust the way you use the clutch, use more of the front area of your foot, feels wierd but once your used to it you wont notice, it's better than using the clutch as your starting to move the wheel and your foot slipping off Wink

Took me about a month to get a comfy position with the 206 clutch lol

Lol size 11 too, I take a pot of shoe polish in my boot because it rubs the polish off lol, I use the front of my foot but my shoes are kinda pointy so they still get caught sometimes, first time it happened i was like wtf is my car broke ?!?! Sad

it sucks even more when you are 6ft7 and have size 13 feet lol, i have to drive in my work shoes because I have no chance in size 13 DC's or VANS lol,

there have been some REAL sketchy moments when my shoes got caught in the steering column and the wheels gone REAL hard to turn! (i almost crashed lol)

and yes the seat is all the way back and as far down as it will go. I also hate the fact the pedals are so close together in a 206, ive never driven a car where they are so close! even the micra and fiesta have about double the distance between them, stupid design flaw IMO.

but meh lol

EDIT: also my head is so close to the roof that

A) ive never used my sunshield. I remember i was driving in the sun once and my driving instructor tried to be helpful and put it down for me and i was suddenly driving blind lol.

and B) when its rains the wipers only clear half the screen for me (because they didnt swap wiping sides for the UK). I have to crouch down to see through the clear bit in the screen lol.

206 pedals were designed for small people - Women! Peugeot designed it for the target buyer. That's why women tend not to moan about the driving position.

The pedals are also perfectly spaced for heal and toeing on downshifts.
