#1: temprature on 2l hdi Author: goughy, Location: telfordPosted: Sat Mar 19, 2011 2:48 pm ---- hi all im new on here so be gental ive noticed the temp gauge only goes 1/4 of the way up the dial, is this normal? thought it should go to 1/2 way when at normal temp, do you think the thermostat will need changing? if so is there a how to, cheers colin

only has coolant temp and this rarely go's above 70 , usually after a good run about 75.

should be ok then it's just when i had my bmw td i was told if the temp didnt reach half way on the gauge within 5 mins of driving the stat was failing and mpg would be pore

waters normaly around 70 and oil is below the 90 mark

My 1.4hdi normally sits at just above 80 and just below 90 if i'm pushing it hard up a hill.
