#1: anoying ticking noise Author: minimuff, Location: dumfries, scotlandPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 2:44 pm ---- ok i have the 05 plate 206 1.6 16v tu5jp4 engine in my 206 and there is this annoying ticking noise at idle but the minute i put a bit of throttle on it goes away. it seems more like a bottom end noise rather that valve train noise. i have checked oil pump and chain and they are fine. another annoying thing after letting it run for a bit it goes away. and when starting the car it deosnt make the noise straight away , it kinda come in slowley getting louder . iv ran the car for about 6000 miles with this and its not had any issues but i need to get rid of the noise before i sell it.
i had a thought about mabay timing belt and tensioners ?
any help or ideas are much appreciated or if anyone has had the same problem .
thanx martin

iv done 2 oil changes and its not helped. i though hydraulic tappet at first but i thought that it would still make the noise when reved but when throttle is pressed it goes away.
i dont want to take it to peugeot incase they just rob me Lol.
