What would be the going rate to repalace a rear arm bearing, or a complete axel from the scrappy?

I think mine has gone, got a little play in the rear off side and it makes one hell of a racket at 50.

Second hand axles go for between £100-£200, Recon ones are around £400-£450. I wouldnt even bother going down the bearing replacment route.
Where in devon are you based? I can change one in about 1.5-2 hours and we charge about £40 an hour labour.

the bearing would could around 50-80.

but if the main shaft is damanged then you can't just replace the bearing because it won't work./

Why put "because" in red matie, I can read you know besides you dont know what the condition the stub pin is in until you take it off...

Good little learning experience to me, as good as lowering a car with a tiny bit more work :/

Little tap tbh, they come off really easy

Then chisel on the end of the bearing (both come out from either end)

Movement

If you have rear discs, use a bolt from the caliber, if not you could try a front caliper bolt.

thanks guys, got a M12 from bnq and it fitted (blind luck) job is done now, stub pin wasnt too bad after a good sand and wire brushing with a dremel. hardes part was banging the bearing in, the torsion bar would not move so I had to free it up from the other side and do the work on the trailing arm with the torsion bar fapping around :/

Who knows how long it will last:P

how did you bang in the bearing?

i am still removing the left overbit inside the trailing arm lol

i was considering to pay the garage to press the bearing in for me lol

Banged the inside bearing in with a piece of wood (it has a lip on it) the outer bearing I banged in with wood untill flush and finished it of with a piece of 52/51mm bar, it sits inside the trailing arm about 1/4 of an inch.
