#1: Engine continues to run.... Author: nicholad, Location: CambridgshirePosted: Thu Mar 31, 2011 5:25 am ---- I have noticed that when I park up and turn the engine off and remove the key the engine is still running. It doesn't happen everytime but when it does happen it the engine continues to run for a few seconds and then switches off. What is this - is it going to lead to a bigger problem. Many thanks for your advice N

Send +12v down the side light wire and the ignition comes on

I did have a rear light out a couple of weeks ago and the bulb was replaced - could the engine running fault be down to that then? Also I have noticed when I drive in the dark my tail light is permenantly on too.....

Thats old school Vauxhall.
There is a similar one for the first generation Vectra but I aint posting it up on a public forum
Reminds me of the first generation Peugeot / Citroen alarm & immobiliser system, that was so easy to bypass in seconds

Send +12v down the side light wire and the ignition comes on

Having same issue in a 03 1.4 HDI.
I got a new light cluster for it last week but it was wrong. I needed the newer version so I went and bought an orange indicator bulb for it and replaced the brake light which had blown after a few days.
