#1: Lewis - Black 180 Project (Update - 9/10/11) Author: Lewis, Location: Isle Of Wight PostPosted: Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:10 pm
    ----
Hi guys, used to have a tivoli blue LX with white nimrods, thought i would start a project thread for the 180 to show you guys what im going to be doing to my baby Very Happy

Picked up my Black GTI 180 on the 28th February 2011.

53 Plate
50,000 Miles

Absolutely love it... couple of rattles and problems but im slowly sorting them out Smile

Hope you enjoy this thread, i will update it as i put parts on the car Smile

Lewis.

How i picked it up.

First thing i did was to change the silver bolt filler cap to a black bolt version (didnt have a picture of when i first put it on)

I then decided i wanted my music back in the car so installed my ipod dock and Pioneer headunit. To Create an ipod dock like this you can follow my guide.

www.206info.co.uk/Foru...lewis.html

My latest edition is the Jewel rear lights on, which are such a big improvement on the original lights, so sexy! Someone has reversed into me recently, absolutely gutted Sad Its going through insurance as we speak luckily i was in the car!!!

EDIT: 12/04/2011 More Additions to the car... Hope you like guys, comments are welcome.

I have recently taken off the front bumper to put on the SP grill and fit the cupra splitter. Im really pleased with the change, just need a bonnet grill next.

I have also recently received in the post my wheel arch extensions with all clips and seals thanks to Jonno. These will be sprayed when my car is in to have the rear bumper/boot/quarter repaired, so excited!

Soon to be put on the car:
- Wheel Arch Extensions

To buy:
- Exhaust mounts (before anyone makes comment) hehe
- SP Bonnet Grill

I will keep this thread updated as i make changes Smile

EDIT: 10/09/2011

Had the car repaired, looks amazing! Will get pics up when i clean it next! As i was saying below, they kindly removed a parking dent in the side aswell whilst doing the rear which was nice!

I haven't had cjance to get the wheel arches done they are still sitting in the garage waiting to get sprayed however i have started with a few new things which i will get pics of when they are on the car Very Happy

I received a bonnet grill in the post this morning and it had a slight bit of damage on the black part above the grill, not too bad but i didnt want it there so i decided to rub them down and spray them up Very Happy As i was in the spraying mood i thought i would get the spare badge and the windscreen wiper cover off and prep them aswell..

These parts i have sprayed are all going to be EXY the same colour as the car!!!

UPDATE: 9/10/11

Here is the bonnet grill and the windscreen wiper cover, sprayed and fitted and whilst i was fitting i decided i would spray the washer jets and tidy up the blurry paint work around them.. so happy with the results!

Between spraying the badge and fitting it i ordered an upper SP grill which i fitted along with the badge! whilst the badge was out i cleaned it all with a tooth brush and back to blacked it so the badge didnt have a grey background!

Whilst i was fitting the upper SP grill i also back to blacked the piece it attaches to and it looked so much nicer!

I also added some Black side repeaters ( dirty car i know )

Here it is a picture of the front as it stands now Smile

It is in need of a good clean but due to a broken wrist i cant quite ring out a chamois or a towel!

Looking at this picture i think i need to get a new lower SP grill grill as it looks old and tatty comparing to the grills on the bonnet and behind the badge

I still havent had the wheel arches sprayed but i think thats next on the list of things to do Very Happy

Hope you enjoy/will enjoy the read.

Lewis
