Drum to disk conversion

Can the above be done?
I need a new axle for my gti, but I'm struggling to find one local and at a good price.

I would buy a recon, but I don't intend on keeping the car too much longer, otherwise I would.

I see the drum ones are common, and reasonable cost.

Cheers all.

Don't you have the remove the arb and torsion bars to swap the trailing arms?

Rolling Eyes

aparently he want to replace his damaged disc axle

by swap the trailing arm then he could potentially get the cheapest axle avalible in the market

Correct.
Although I don't think it would be "easy".

yes, a few tap from a hammer will knock the arms off

Not too sure.
The wheel doesn't shake or wobble.

Any play in the arms? If there isn't then its not the bushes...

Check its not something stupid like exhaust hitting something or the spare wheel cage as that happens to quite often rattle

What else could it be?
I replaced both hubs a month ago.
Shock maybe?

Could well be the exhaust...
I'd be shocked if I was the cage, especially as I don't have one.

it will be very hard to check the play in the arms when the torsion bar is connected Smile
