#1: anyone heard of this happening before? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:12 am ---- im not asking for a solution because nothings actually wrong lol, just something very strange happened when driving today.
about 3 days ago my clutch started squeeling when engaging or disengaging the clutch (no noise when pedal is fully up or down, just when actually moving it) during this time the clutch still worked fine.
today I was clutching up in traffic and i heard a BONK! and the car almost stalled, since then the noise has dissapeared and the biting point is lower down the pedal.
car still drives ok, and now clutch noise is gone, just wondering WTF happened under the bonnet? lol
oppinions?

Its mostly likely nearly chewed its way through the fingers on the pressure plate

#8: Re: anyone heard of this happening before? Author: D4NTP, Location: Not Leeds or its surrounding areas!Posted: Wed Apr 06, 2011 2:41 pm ---- If the release bearing was on its way out you would get a rumbling noise with the clutch depressed.....
#9: Re: anyone heard of this happening before? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Thu Apr 07, 2011 4:34 am ---- there was no noise when fully depressed, the noise is totally gone now anyway lol. odd
#10: Re: anyone heard of this happening before? Author: Kersh, Location: Bridgnorth, Nr WolverhamptonPosted: Thu Apr 07, 2011 4:37 am ---- were you crossing a border at the time?
206's have a common problem of picking up the polish when crossing a border, sometimes if they get too close to the clutch mechanism they can scream.
i think you can get a kit to fix it but its not worth it until you get 2 or 3 polish under there really
#11: Re: anyone heard of this happening before? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Thu Apr 07, 2011 4:43 am ---- lol, i wasnt, but that doesnt rule out some chav trying to get a free ride, i was driving through a rough area! haha

#13: Re: anyone heard of this happening before? Author: xbonez182, Location: BirminghamPosted: Thu Apr 07, 2011 5:09 am ---- i had that problem 2 weeks ago. clutch felt clunky and i got the engaging squeal. the clutch bearing shattered in the high street and i could barely get the car home.
