#31: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance : Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 5:33 am ---- You sir, are a king,
But what I meant to say if this was not to work, and I needed to replace ecu, bsi ect, then I would require you help if i was to find anything on ebay to ensure it was the right one, Which I hope you don't mind doing,
Iv been looking around a few other forums, and this seems to be a recurring fault, which people always suggest first trying to change the Aerial.
I really wish i joined this forum 4 months and £700 ago.

Any Peugeot / Citroen main dealer parts dept will happily sell you one pretty cheaply.

So I guess the only option is a BSI ECU replacement

That means the aerial is seeing the transponder chip inside the key.

Can you borrow an EOBD code reader from a friend / mechanic?
Plug it in & see if it will communicate with the engine ecu.
16 pin EOBD diagnostic socket is behind flap to drivers right knee, turn platic screw with a coin & lift up / unclip the flap.
#42: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2011 4:41 am ---- I had a diagnostic done not long back, I had some old faults cleared. Mechanic plugged it into the fuse area by my lower right knee.

If the engine ecu is immobilised you WONT be able to communicate with it

They offer so many different repair services on virtaully any make of car depending on actual problems that a price list would be pretty huge.
Best thing to do would be to speak to them over the phone
A scan with Peugeot Planet would help pinpoint the fault as well.
