Then reattached it all. I checked the fuel and if it was coming through to the engine by disconnecting the fuel line from the engine ( in the engine bay, the small clip on bit) and the strangest thing happened. Firstly fuel shot through when the ignition was on, then on the second attempt nothing. So I re attached everything. I then took the keys out and locked up, went inside. Came out an hour later sat in the car and i could hear a small whirring sound coming from behind me ( with no keys in the ignition). Assuming this would be the fuel pump engaging, i disconnected the fuel line in the engine bay again, and fuel shot through. Yet when i go to start the car nothing. I always thought if there was an immobiiser in the car it would shut of the fuel?

Have a good check of the wiring around there as the fuel pump is in that general area.

Im somewhat sceptical if the work has even been done, are there any tell tale signs i can llook out for? Like would the millage change on the speedo?

IIRC the mileage would stay the same because it is stored in the speedo cluster... Unless thats just Pre-plexed...
