Might be going to look at This tomorrow.

www.gumtree.com/p/cars...o/77640856

Don't know a lot about diesels and Peugeot in general, so any help would be appreciated. What to walk away from etc....

I know to ask for proof of cambelt, tensioners etc..... check fluids and that, anything else on an immediate check list?. The car is high mileage, but am I right in thinking this sin't a problem for diesels?.

Thanks again.

As far as I know quite a few member's on here have diesels with well over 100k milage and have no problem's whatsoever. It may be worth searching the site if this is your first 206 to get a general idea of 206's to know what to look for when you go to view it. The car's can have a few fault's some which may cost a bit to sort out other's just plain annoying. But for that price it may be worth spending a few quid on IMO.

Take it for a test drive and make sure no clucking from rear (rear axle bearings gone = new axle)
No clunking on full lock from the front... (Droplinks/wishbones or topmounts)
As you said otherwise.. Nothing really specific that I can think of on the HDi's.

thanks for the replies.
never got a chance to look at it. had a bunch of questions for him after some reading here, but never got past cambelt and tensioners, he didn't know if they had been done, second question was if it had any service history, he didn't know as he'd only owned it a couple of months, and then told me someone was coming to view it tonight. so i ended the call with that.

i know the car was going cheap but with no service history or proof of things like cambelt or things like that, then i'd be looking to have to get that done myself, thereby adding a fair bit onto the initial price of the car
