Had 4 new tyres fitted about 3 months ago or so, and the outer tread is totally worn down alreadyon the fronts, the inner side is as new! The old tyres that were replaced weren't like it so whats up? Been meaning to get a wheel alignment since i bought the tyres, but now I AM getting one!

your tracking needs done and a new set of tyres sooner than you hoped for.

Get the tracking done with the new tyres on, if you get it done now, it will be out again when you get new tread.

Being a GTI 180 it will has ESP fitted & technicaly speaking the steering angle sensor should be reset once once the tracking has been adjusted correctly Wink

As long as the steering wheel is true straight when the trackings done, it should be ok. My car had a constant ESP error message because my steering wheel was off when the wheels were straight.

Haynes did actually put that in the original Peugeot 405 workshop manual in the tyre wear section Wink

Then again the 405 had the chassis to achieve it Laughing

The thing iss i dont really drive vey fast infact, i hardly drive it at all, the wife usually does. Thinking of swapping front to back tyres as the real wheels have large amounts of negative camber and the outer edges should'not wear anymore. As long as they are still legal!

rear wheel max. allowed camber is -1 at standard height. that would hardly cause uneven wear.

there's clearly more camber than that! Its visible so it must be at least3 degrees I'd say.

One way to check your tracking, turn out of a junction, your wheels should straighten up, if not you've got a problem somewhere. Mine was the tracking when it did this.
