Got to buy a catch can soonish, and get it ready for it's trip down to Sandy!
#588: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 1:28 pm ---- Bodies
Not sure if I'm going to fit my cams or sell them if I'm honest, if they give too much overlap then it's actually gonna be detrimental towards the supercharger!
#589: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Quarmbo, Location: Bristol & LeicesterPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 1:48 am ---- Your getting them on now?! Brilliant! I'm really pleased you are. Do the TB's and the cams! Come S/C time, you can always replace them/have a fiddle with the bits.
#590: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Len_Beach, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:12 pm ---- You selling your standard inlet Jamie?
#591: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:13 pm ---- He wouldnt dare....... I need it for the S/C conversion
#592: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Len_Beach, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:15 pm ---- I've read a few bits saying that they're a benefit on a 138 but nothing conclusive. Thoughts?
#593: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:21 pm ---- They are only a benefit if you change other things to on the induction side.... but not really worth speaking of
#594: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:08 pm ---- Better off with a set of Piper cams or similar Ben for the money you'd spend converting to DBW and fitting my inlet etc...
#595: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:09 pm ---- Also spoke to Jenvey today, they want £550 for the manifold to let me run boost into the bodies...
#596: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Len_Beach, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:37 pm ---- I can't wait to see these 2 when they're done.
I know I'm going to end up with bodies or a charger, just looking for some quick fix alternatives in the meantime.
Any joy with those top mounts?
#597: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:40 pm ---- Nope, but I'll text him tomorow for you, obviously he didn't shift off his a**e when he read my email!
Why only 1, do both
Should give the M3 a run for it's money when it's done
#598: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Len_Beach, Location: LeedsPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:45 pm ---- LOL, the plan was to spend the equivalent of a good Saxo VTS on a track car. Since joining this site, my budget has just disappeared.
There's no reason why I couldn't do both, I'd just want to stage it so I had something to keep me busy.
Most well driven hot hatch's will keep a standard M3 honest although I've got a new found confidence in the bus after the latest raft of tweaks. Fun for a different reason though.
#599: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Wed Jul 07, 2010 4:01 pm ---- Pah I'm good at making other people spend money
Go for bodies first I reckon, then decide from there if you want more power!
#600: Re: Jamie: GTi180 Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 10:58 am ---- Liking your style Jamie..... get them to send me money.... I love fitting bodies now
