ignition barrel / steering lock !!!

Hi there

Went into my van this morning , andthe key wouldnt turn,
Noticed that the steering lock was on (which i never normally do )

Anyway went ghot a new key which has made no difference ,

Problem is Think the steering lock is jammed on ,

Can anyone help me as to how to unlock it ????
