#1: since i installed the sub. Author: scottsgti, Location: ramsgatePosted: Sun May 01, 2011 10:05 am ---- put my sub and amps in the car today, and now when ever i start the car there is a crackle through the speakers and i can hear the cars engine through the speakers, when ever i accelerate there is a fairly high pitched wine.
which will get really annoying, really fast.
i've cleaned some of the earths i can find, because apparently if there is any s**t on them that could cause it, but it hasn't cured my problem.
cheers.
#2: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: coopskin, Location: Hull, East YorkshirePosted: Sun May 01, 2011 10:06 am ---- have you put the RCA's and the remote wire on opposite sides of the car?
#3: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: scottsgti, Location: ramsgatePosted: Sun May 01, 2011 10:11 am ---- yep, there both running down opposite sides.
never had this problem in any of my other cars, although i've always changed the headunit. but in my 206 i've just kept the original headunit in, not sure if thats the reason why?
#4: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: coopskin, Location: Hull, East YorkshirePosted: Sun May 01, 2011 10:13 am ---- quite possible, maybe borrow an aftermarket one, hook it up to your system and see what happens
#5: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: Ash, Location: Running from Ant and Lee and Adam...........Posted: Sun May 01, 2011 10:16 am ---- I use the standard headunit and I don't have that problem..

#10: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: Bassline_Toad, Location: Chester, UKPosted: Sun May 01, 2011 11:05 am ---- Someone I know had this very problem. Turned out, they'd wired it incorrectly. It'll be a small schoolboy error IMO, something like connecting a wrong wire somewhere.

Speaker wire to phono adapter, costs about £5
#12: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: scottsgti, Location: ramsgatePosted: Sun May 01, 2011 11:23 am ---- yeah got an adapter, not sure what its exact name is, but it also houses 2 fuses for both my amps.
perhaps it is a silly error, but it will have to wait, because it took hours to do and i aint looking through it all anytime soon haha
i will check the earths and rca's though.
#13: Re: since i installed the sub. Author: DeadEyePaul, Location: Rugby,WarwickshirePosted: Sun May 01, 2011 12:03 pm ---- I had this exact problem I found a speaker wire that became unsheeved and the exposed wires was touching the cars bodywork. So check all your wires it took me the best part of 2 days before I discovered this! I re-wired the whole setup before I discovered it was just one speaker cable
