#1: engine question Author: XSIcheeseman, Location: OrpingtonPosted: Thu May 05, 2011 8:30 am ---- someones offered me a old 2.0L 8v turbo charged engine that has been rebuilt and turboed charged, the only old thing on it is the block itself, its had full forged internals, high lift cam, uprated cam belt, uprated water pump, everything on it is new. he also said the engine will come with gearbox, ecu, all wiring, uprated brakes all round, uprated engine mounts, exhaust manifold, all the pipes . the bloke said he would fit it all for a grand . i think its got more stuff as well but i cant remember, i asked to see all the reciepts and photos of the engine first . the person had it in a 206 before .
does anyone think its werth it ? ill be getting more info durring the next week or so. i was only thinking of doing it as i want to keep my 206 but i want a turbo so this kinda up my street. Last edited by XSIcheeseman on Thu May 05, 2011 8:49 am; edited 1 time in total

As for the engine it will be an old stone age XU lump, they aint worth anything now & some of the parts for them are no longer stocked by Peugeot / Citroen.

2.0 litre 8 valve, thats the XU10J2 lump, 2 different types of cylinder head depending on age of the engine.
Even the factory turbo charged version of this engine out the 406 is s**te.
