mine is very slow to accelerate when i first get in it in the mornings. then all of a sudden it will accelerate like hell. and yeh its got ngk plugs in it but its had them in since ive had it (2 n half years) and this probably has only just started bout 3 months ago
Change the ngk plugs for bosh super 4s I used NGks once nod it ran cr*p with no power they mess with the coil pack. Once its warm does Is accelerate hard low down then a little harder over about 3500-4000 rpm?

Clearly not a proper service if the plugs are 2 and a half years old
#18: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: bigtony85, Location: NottinghamPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 6:08 am ---- LEE it had a new set 3 weeks ago. i was sayin even tho ive changed them 3 times ive always changed them 4 NGKs and NICK ive never had problems with NGKs tbh. and nick yeh it does do that.
#19: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: NICKST, Location: Little hulton (worsley)Posted: Sun May 08, 2011 6:11 am ---- Ye think you have never had a problem with the NGks but have you driven it with bosh super 4s in? You WILL notice a throttle and power difference I was noticeable on mine.
As for the acceleration if it's doing that your vvt sensor is fine then.
#20: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: bigtony85, Location: NottinghamPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 6:13 am ---- coolio might try n change them nick. cheers dude
#21: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 6:15 am ---- Super Plus are the newer ones
#22: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: NICKST, Location: Little hulton (worsley)Posted: Sun May 08, 2011 6:16 am ---- Alot of people on here will advice you to use bosh super 4s. And I'm speaking from experience. No probably hope you get it sorted.
#23: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: bigtony85, Location: NottinghamPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 6:43 am ---- so whats better super plus or super 4???

Your original plugs must have been knackered then. All a spark plug can ever do is create a strong spark. Super 4's will create the same single spark that any other plugs will do.
#25: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: NICKST, Location: Little hulton (worsley)Posted: Sun May 08, 2011 7:40 am ---- It had super 4s in it I did a full service on it using ngk plugs went for a drive noticed it was down on power next day changed back to super 4s and it was back to narmal.
#26: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: imjeeves, Location: Glasgow / WellingPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 8:32 am ---- I always use the NGK in my 180 rally car. I have always been told the standard bosch plugs are very poor. But Edward is correct all a plug does is spark nothing more so what quality you buy will really just depend on how long they will last against the cost of them
#27: Re: Gti 180 Fuel Filter Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun May 08, 2011 9:03 am ---- NGK can cause problems with your coilpack and potentially ECU. That's why Peugeot issued a service bulletin about not fitting them
