#34: Re: NIMMINZ' 1.4 8v PROJECT Author: Nimminz, Location: Durham, NE England, UKPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2010 4:05 am ---- Cheers, little update, haven't got very far been at college all the time since Monday
couple of pics though, still on wheel No 2
You can see the second one behind
Tips? don't really know, Lots of patience and 80 grit aper to remove paint and powercoat then 280 grit wet and dry to smooth it off, 600 and 1200 grit wet round the edge to polish. Mine are quite badly curbed from before i had them
Problems
- takes forever sanding by hand
- curbing was deep so won't get perfect edge
- getting paint off round the text was a nightmare
Can't think of anything else,
Thanks for looking!

Loving the refurb on the 205 wheels but personally I don't think the suit the 206.
What stickers you got or do we have to wait to see?
#40: Re: NIMMINZ' 1.4 8v PROJECT (wheel refurb in progress p3) Author: Nimminz, Location: Durham, NE England, UKPosted: Sun Mar 28, 2010 3:48 am ---- Cheers!!
Yeah, Cupra is way common but there are hardly any at my college so i'll be original there
Exhaust is well nice, nice burble on idle, crackles as it comes back down from revving it. overall not too loud, just nice.
The 205 wheels grow on you, one day might change them, never know
Nothing really special, but yeah wait and see
My mate has a vinyl cutter so i can get anything i want cut :D. Still got a couple stickers from antix to put somewhere

and 205 wheel no. 3 and 3 centre caps painted
should get last one finished today, just need the rim polishing then. Aiming to get them finished and on the car for thursday. Probably going to try get a cold air feed sorted today
Also never got them stickers my file didn't work on his cutter, will be trying again though
really need to get my wheels done need to wait for the weather to pick up so i can spray them outside as i have no garage
#45: Re: NIMMINZ' 1.4 8v PROJECT (wheel refurb in progress p3) Author: boozeman, Location: manchesterPosted: Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:09 am ---- you will get some serious heat soak in the filter if you place it there. Which as you may know will reduce power, try moving it away by putting the alloy tubes back on
