Keep the pictures and Mods coming Very Happy

Hammerite with a cheap 10-for-a-pound paint brush lol.

Tinted rear Ph2 lights should be arriving soon too Very Happy

Mods coming soon (hopefully)

- few more red hammerite parts in engine bay
- polish exhaust heat shield, engine mount and ECU cover properl
- Gloss black rocker cover
- Re-sprayed wheels

thats about all i can afford at the moment Sad

Thanks for all the comments, i'll try to put a little update up tonight about the fog light project

cheers, i love them. mine are in a right state at the moment Sad

little update:

despite having the fog in boiling water for half an hour to try and help with the super glue, the lens didn't make it off in one peice

Not the end of the world as i might not use it at all. Another problem arose though, the LED cluster is slightly too big so will have to cut 2 channels down the top and bottom then slide it in. Then i'm thinking fill it with epoxy putty or resin then build it up at the front into the origional fog shape but with all the LED's sunk back

like this:

and thourght i'd post this up from the day before yesterday lol

Thanks for looking!

Playing around in the engine bay yesterday and started a bit of rust removal.

This is the bit i have started

Its the metal bar that goes over the engine mount.

To start with

How it is now

I've re-fitted it while driving but is it actually important?

Think i'll be polishing up parts of the engine rather than dunking them in hammerite

Thanks for looking

looks good,
could possibly do with laquer on the rear lights? or are they dirty? look a bit...dull in the first couple of pics

they are matte / satin finish but was contemplating lacquering them, just wanted them fitted to show off tomorrow lol

Not dirty as i gave the back end a quick clean after fitting them, frost on last pic though.

Cheers

Hi really like the car what spray paint do you use for for plastics interior etc any special one?

#25: Re: NIMMINZ' 1.4 8v PROJECT Author: Nimminz, Location: Durham, NE England, UK PostPosted: Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:13 pm

Interior plastics were done in the following:

Black - Plasticote satin black (wouldn't use again as its never as good as other paint and all the other laquers apart from the plasticote one reacted with it Sad )

Red - Hycote Fiat swift red - got it from 'boyes' store in Whitby before they stopped selling it

Grey - Hycote Peugeot Graphite grey - as above

Lacquer - Hycote clear lacquer and plasticote lacquer

The wheels were done in Peugeot Cossak grey with no lacquer, wish i had now. This paint was got from halfords.

The halfords stuff is quite good for most things, Its what I'll be using in the future.

Brakes done in Hammerite Red Smooth - For its High temperature resistance

Hope that helps cheers for the comments.

UPDATE:

Got the rear mudflaps on today, will see what the photos I took look like and see if they are worth uploading, It was pitch black by the time I finished. Had to take archliners out as i Couldn't be bothered removing the wheels to fit the screwdriver in, Gave them a good clean and a clean behind them.

Going on a little photoshoot tomorrow so should get some better photos then.

Thanks for looking!

cheers. I got the K&N off a mate, just the cone part. Then i bought the chrome tubes and silicone connectors from a site on the net but can't remember what it was Sad

If i remember I'll post it up.

Update:

Just Lacquered the lights, House stinks of the stuff now Sad

Started polishing the metal bits again, they'd gone mucky already, need to lacquer them once they're done.

Brakes are really doing my head in, squeaking whenever i brake and vibrating badly, quite sure its a warped disk so will be replacing both the disks and pads and respraying the wheels

Thanks for looking

Update time...

Got a tinted fog from ad_182_uk, so got that fitted:

Sprayed my exhaust manifold black

before:

During

After

Started refurbishing the wheels:

before

sanding

sanded

primered

painted

Thats how far I am now, one wheel, just needs the rim polishing and the whole thing lacquering. 3 to go...

Doing them Peugeot Cossack grey like before but this time will lacquer them to bring out the metallicness. and they have been sanded smooth this time, think the lad i got them off cut corners when he sprayed them Laughing leaving the rim bare metal but polishing it up, then lacquering it.

Next week should be getting a new air filter as mine has a hole in it, will be making a box round it and cold air feed to prevent heat soak from the engine bay.

thanks for looking!
