#1: Locking wheel nuts Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Fri May 20, 2011 1:01 pm ---- I've got quite a big problem, when the garage attempted to do my clutch few weeks ago, they put my wheels on with air gun, and done locking nut with them too, and rounded the pins of the stud now rhe key spins on it, tried hammering a socket with no luck just the top off, I'm really stuck for what to do

This is what happened to me too but in my efforts to get it off it sheared off and I had to get it welded off!! Garage I took mine to seemed to get alot of jobs like that, so done it fairly quick and protected the wheels too!

This happened to me on old wheel locking nuts, as the locking wheel key one was not in the 206 GTi when I bought it. The garage that got the old locking wheel nuts off did this in no time at all.

Just make sure where you go they protect the bolt holes and mask the wheel up

V important you tell them to protect the wheels. It happened to my mam's old car, they got the nut out no problem but melted the area surrounding the nut on the alloy and it looked awful!!
