#1: Unidentified oil leak Author: jonnym92, Location: west cumbriaPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 12:17 pm ---- I have had an oil leak for about 3 weeks now and came from the sump but now i have been defeated by the problem of where it is comming from as it hasnt stopped. i have changed the oil filter, sump and gasket and rocker cover gasket. All of these are perfectly done and nothing is coming out of any of these. it isnt a massive leak it is only maybe about CD size patch when its been stood there all night. ALso i have realised the car leaks just after it has been running as it drips then but after a short while it stopps dripping :S
Any ideas would be appreciated.

#3: Re: Unidentified oil leak Author: Antknee, Location: ManchesterPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 12:36 pm ---- I would have thought it would be coming from a really small hole somewhere because when the oil heats up it becomes less viscous and flow more easily as oppose to when it's cold and more viscous and not being able to penetrate. Just a thought, i could be wrong!

It would help you narrow down where its leaking from.
