#1: Belt Tensioner Author: Taff!, Location: Havant nr PortsmouthPosted: Sun Jun 05, 2011 5:07 am ---- Can't quite see how to remove the automatic tensioner on my 1.6 16v.
Am I right in thinking it's just a case of taking tension off the belt, 4mm allen key into the hole to hold the tensioners position
Remove the belt
Two [or more?] 12mm bolts to the side of the alternator to remove the tensioner?
Bolt new one on
New belt
Remove the allen key.
Also didn't this forum have a part number request section before? Wanted to know the part no and price for a genuine one of possible.
