Crank pulley gone.
-> 206 Problems

#1: Crank pulley gone. Author: Dan206, Location: Swindon PostPosted: Mon Jun 06, 2011 6:44 am

Was driving home from Gloucester to Swindon on friday night, got down there no hassles but coming back on the A419 by the Swindon hospital noticed a very loud grinding noise first time i heard it as the music was on and all the windows were down, pulled over in Chisledon and got recovered (5 hours later) by the RAC, said it was my crank pulley breaking as there was lots of metal shavings in the engine bay, may have caught it to late if i didnt hear it until then. Getting towed to my garage soon and getting a quote for the repairs, any rough idea and how bad will the damage be if i noticed it to late? Cheers

Just get the timing checked.

Mine dropped off on the M1 and carried on driving it. It was fine.

Replaced it with a Eibach one Smile
