Pass on the blame why don't you.

Cars break from time to time.
If one garage can't find a fault with it take it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion.

I doubt Peugeot UK or Watchdog will take any interest. I think you're just looking for an excuse not to pay for it yourself.

if it's cutting out going from 3rd to 2nd surely as soon as you lift the clutch it will just bump start itself so you shouldn't lose steering and brakes for more than the time than your clutch is pressed...which shoudn't be that long

First question from Peugeot is "Can we see your full dealer service history?"
The answer when you can't produce that will be "it must have been something another garage has done when they serviced the car"
The next thing you will hear is the door of the service department closing behind you.

Car was bought in 2008!! had it for 3 years and the last year and a half its been cutting out on me, losing all power including steering and brakes only thing i can do is try and start the engine again to get brakes and steering back or worse case scenario pull the handbrake to stop!! (not reccomended at 40mph!!) there are many forums on the net about this particular fault and in 2004 they managed to get the issue on watchdog!! as that was back in 2004 i need new posts to enable me to get our problems on watchdog!!! please post similar problems and what you have had done and where (i.e. local garage or dealership) thanks again guys will keep you posted on my outcome with the dealers (currently an ongoing fight to get them to change ECU programme for free)

Best regards

If that was really the case, why did you change the date on your original post/quote from 2003 to 2011? Something seems a bit fishy here...

The cut out problem was fixed YEARS ago Rolling Eyes

If your main dealer is that incompetent that they cant apply the fixes Peugeot came up with to cure the problem take it to another Peugeot main dealer.

I'm interested in this, also after the fix point would they have made new 206s from that point with the new fix?
