#1: Retrofitting cruise control problem Author: Alex206, Location: Serbia PostPosted: Wed Jun 08, 2011 3:49 am

Hail to all. I have a problem while retro-installing cruise control, the thing is that i can manage to change the settings on bsi for the setting under cruise control to be with speed limiter but after save it say configuration successful but it's keep changing it to type 1 without/with speed limiter and i have stalk with speed limiter. But when i go to engine's ECU i have the option for speed limit and for cruise control but i cannot change the cruise control to present, simply not available and when i change the speed limiter to present it say that configuration is invalid and change it back to not present.
I don't know what could be the problem, maybe the stalk is wrong, ah yes, the commands are working flawlessly in acutator.

I have 206 1.4 16v 90, mux and also have clutch switch, brake switch with four wires, electronic accelerator and offcourse ABS+AirBag comm. PLEASE HELP Exclamation

Might need to take a read in there. I think I remember someone saying that some ECU's are incompatible.

Unless you have a compatible engine ecu its a total waste of time buying / fitting the cruise control parts.

Compaitble means cruise isnt software locked in the ecu.

Just because your BSI can do cruise control doesnt mean your engine ecu can Wink

Bummer, i think that's the matter because everything else is in order. And do you think it can be overrided somwhow without changeing the whole ECU!?

Dismantle the ECU

desolder the eeprom's [can't remember which one it is for CC]

then get a eeprom programmer [probably a 42 pin one]

read the hexdecimal coding, and then edit it so that CC is in the coding.

don't have the eeprom reader Sad but the soldering part is not the problem, i do not konw if firmware update will fix it....

You'll not be able to use a normal soldering iron. You want a hot air station and plenty of flux as well for when you solder back up.

If you get one from a 307, you'll either need it unlocked or get the matching BSI and transponder as well.
