value for money mods are:
3" tip
3" down pipe and cat back
FMIC
Induction kit.
That should see you comfortably stage 2 and probably about 220 bhp.

Also as your all seem to me in the mk4 fold, any one know where I can pick up a 4 motion rear ARB for a good price?

Have you seen the Top Gear test of the MK4 Golf?

Admittidly its a good looking car, but covering it in stickers and fitting that exhaust cheapens the look IMO.

Well tbh your about the only one who said that and considering you can't even see the exhaust it's hidden

It is up for sale but these are some pics I forgot to add a while ago , I still have work to do on it as I have the parts. I'll only sell if I get the price or I get a decent part ex. The Bailey one was brand new and just makes a bit more noise tbh

Is it still a recirc valve? If you have a n249 unit if you bypass it you will get a better dump sound. What exactly is the electrical problem your having?

Yes it is and tbh I don't wanna by pass anything as it's running ok. Well I think it's been fixed now it just kept coming up with alternator workshop light the code. was for battery power supply but the descriptions are check battery check generator alternator . But I have checked everything people on ukmivs.net have said but now I think it's sorted

Im sure the golfs have a voltage regulator too, there normally on the alternator. If you are a member of uk-mkiv im sure a search for voltage regulator, might throw up help. Did it just throw lights on the dash, or are there any symptoms too? Have you vag com'd it?

Iv got a full exhaust and map to get done on mine. If you talk to APE i think he might still have the smic's of his leon somewhere. Better than the he may still have his k04 and down pipe. Although you might need a new manifold to fit that. im trying to do avoid changing the turbo but I am very tempted.

not being funny mate but your painting skills are epic!!! red paint brushed on then fitted to early to the car ,leaving red paint on dipstick (the car)

tip spending money on something you love is good but dont rush things before there ready ,other wise you might as well throw your money away

#102: Re: VAG GTI TURBO pg 7 update Author: XSIcheeseman, Location: Orpington PostPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:07 am

tbh im not botherd about my painting skills its just paint at the end of the day it comes off. i like to test things out. im not bothered about what people say bout my "painting skills"

id rather do it this way instead of spending loads more on something and then think its s**t. so this i get to see what colour id like then do it all proeprly when im happy

and tbh the manifolds was painted on the car as a test the dipstick is gonna be taken off and sprayed most other things that paint it on will either be replaced or re sprayed anyway its a work in progress thats what a project thread is all about workin in progress

hmm FMIC is safer and cheaper tho. why did you not go hybrid with the turbo rebuild if you want big power?

oh okay I thought you meant putting TT flared arches on the side, not changing the arch liners. Slight let down.

Also all my boost leaks are from the breather system under the inlet manifold. I fixed one which means i can hold 17-18 psi to the red line, and peak a 27 Wink

190-195 bhp for that weight may not be too spectacular Sad I have 210 (for the moment) on my 206 and I am still not impressed.
And those stickers make me feel a smell of rice with curry:)
There's something wrong in the last picture, looks like the (rear left) directional tire is mounted the other way around?
