#3: Re: nightmare!!! Author: loopyloulou, Location: berkshirePosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 2:44 pm ---- ok mr smarty pants lol

#4: Re: nightmare!!! Author: nakednakeddave, Location: aberdeenPosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:01 pm ---- surprised he wouldnt just replace it.... or hook it up to a diagnostic machine and fix it that way....
#5: Re: nightmare!!! Author: mattymj, Location: NorfolkPosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:08 pm ---- What's wrong with it and where has it been sent?
#6: Re: nightmare!!! Author: loopyloulou, Location: berkshirePosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:01 pm ---- the main thing is the stop light was on, and tempgauge showing overheating.
even when its not lol,

#7: Re: nightmare!!! Author: pug206lx, Location: Taking a gearbox off somewherePosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:02 pm ---- Engine coolant temperature sensor?
#8: Re: nightmare!!! Author: data, Location: HerefordPosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:16 pm ---- Unfortunately, you might have purchased a "lemon." Is there any way that you could get back to the seller and offer to surgically remove both of his kidneys if he doesn't offer to help with the cost of repairs?
#9: Re: nightmare!!! Author: loopyloulou, Location: berkshirePosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:24 pm ---- Hahaha
Luckily he is doing all repairs for free, and is making sure he does it all to a good standard, hence its taking time.
He has even lent me a car, although it has its own problems.....oh well what's another week or 2
#10: Re: nightmare!!! Author: data, Location: HerefordPosted: Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:27 pm ---- Well - result! I'm glad you had the testes to confront him, and good luck with the repair - hopefully you'll end-up with a 206 like mine; darn reliable without any issues in the last 3 years!

How the hell are we likely to know how long its gonna take to repair the ecu.
We dont have a clue whats wrong with it & we dont know whos doing the repair.
Ill take a guess & pluck a figure out the air, 6 years & 4 months.
Try asking the people that have the ecu if you want an answer
#12: Re: nightmare!!! Author: Keisha206, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 5:48 am ---- MrBSI you are so cranky! i saw you refer to us noobs as "idiots" on my post! what a d**che!... if you really have a problem why dont you not come onto these posts, read and comment on them in the first place. No one needs your opinions when theyre not constructive.. i think she got the message when a previous user put it nicely

#16: Re: nightmare!!! Author: Keisha206, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 6:52 am ---- i understand, i did the same! i agree, it was my first post about paying a mechanic £45 an hour being expensive!, as all the work ive had done has cost me upwards of £600 i wanted to make sure i was getting the best deal and then MrBSI strolls along and tells me im an idiot and that i need to shut up moaning, not what you expect from a forum like this!
#17: Re: nightmare!!! Author: loopyloulou, Location: berkshirePosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:11 am ---- i actually didnt word my original post right at all, but didnt expect the responses,
i know nothing about cars, lol, didnt even know what an ecu was until the other day.
hope you get everything sorted hun x
#18: Re: nightmare!!! Author: cosmicdance, Location: Leeds, UKPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:29 am ---- Hope you get your BSI sorted and its not too expensive.
As for some of the replies to requests for help on here.
Well its clearly not just women that suffer from PMT.
Fortunately most replies are helpful and constructive so the angry, irrelevant ones make good entertainment reading

#19: Re: nightmare!!! Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 8:47 am ---- You have been cheaper to buy a second hand ECU and BSI than it will be to fix the existing, IF its broke. What was they using for the diagnostics, hope it wasnt a cheap s***ty ebay special
#20: Re: nightmare!!! Author: loopyloulou, Location: berkshirePosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:34 am ---- im not paying thank god lol,
as i had only recently got the car the bloke is doin all the work for free, he has sent it off somewhere, so its gets done properly. so fingers crossed as he is expecting it back this week,
oh and no it wasnt a ebay special lol, the guy runs a garage and it good.
#21: Re: nightmare!!! Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:38 am ---- Okie dokie. But it probably still would be cheaper to get a second hand set then repair
#22: Re: nightmare!!! Author: loopyloulou, Location: berkshirePosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:52 am ---- Oh well
